Here is link to thread i started in January about wanting to go pro and asking for advice.........http://www.pocketfives.com/poker-for..............and here is my updated mtt graph.....
Basically i think i officially made it, i hit one big score in march, took 2nd in the 3.30 rebuy for 9k and that was my first 4 figure cash and i have 4 more since, i put in the time and work over the last year and it paid off, ive cashed out over $15,000 the last 3 months and im pretty sure there is no turning back now,to all those who awnsered my questions and pm's, Thanks and gl ..HUSTLEMAN83 -
huh?
so you went to +3k over 300 games
had a break even/ slightly losing streak the next 600 and then had one big score?
Id hold off on quitting your day job just yet. congrats on the score tho. -
for starters congrats on ur recent success, but not saying u shouldnt go pro, but beleive me some months can be better then others i started off the first couple months of this year doin pretty well, think i profitted like 24k jan-midmarch, then now im back to running on idle , variance can switch on ya at anytime, dont get caught up thinking it wont happen again cuz beleive me it can , just keep doing what ur doing, keep good broll manage and keep working, beware of variance downswings , gl

Just started playing full time in 2010...have 4, 4 figure cashes last 120 days and up 15k profit..why would i need a dayjob lol? And what more do i have to do to prove im a winning player?
-
precisely...I was not trying to be sarcastic just a bit of warning as variance downswings can be crushing. Feel free to go pro just be cautious and smart about it.
-
man noone is saying u cant be a winning player, but seriously there are people that crush it way harder then this and then get hit with that thing called variance, keep things in prospective and stay focused on improving , never for one minute think u wont have another downswing or u will be in trouble
-
I've been accused of being a douchebag as of late, but I still say this post is bs. You have one 9k score that pretty much makes your profit. When variance kicks in you will be starving.
-
Thanks, yeah i deal with variance, i wish i had an updated graph..you can see im putting in alot of volume and still have pretty good roi/profit
-
are you for real?

its called running good, u can easily go on a downswing and lose all of that
i think i should start thinkin about goin pro as well hah -
lol....ok i need to get a graph...
-
Lol who said im running good, im running bad and variance kills me too, when i actually run good ill have a 20k month
-
Why not work during the day and poker at night? Good mtt's dont start till later anyways...
-
have u even played a mtt over 11 dollars?
-
ur missing everyones point , we all run like crap even when we are gettin some scores , that has nothing to do with the downswing, if u think ur gettin 20k a month profit from here on out and uve found a way to beat the downswing then i guess u are the new gboro
-
Yeah hey guys what job can a 20 something with no college degree get that pays better than the 3-5k a month im making now?? Let me know cause i would be interested
-
do u know how many people run good and profit 5 k 10k 15k in a couple of months in a row, then break even or lose the next 5 months?, trust everyone man, VARIANCE, just keep working noone is knocking u , this advice is 100% true and happens to the best of them , go check out that Big Huni post not long ago, he was ready to quit and he is crushing way harder then this, seriously man dont get ahead of urself
-
nobody is hating on u , i think everyone is giving u honest advice , but whatever man gl
