  1. long story, but i'm on a table at UB and someone called 'classyploppy' asks to trade $$. I usually string these scammers along for a kick, and report it to the site so that player doesn't get a bad rep and they can shut the scammers account down (I told KK about one guy using a variation of his name a while ago, which he shut down).

anyway, this guy has the exact same name as the actual classyploppy (matches with pokerdb), so i think ok, it actually is him. i can move money around easy being in NZ and not having issues with any sites or whatever. he gives me some story about taking money out for vegas is why he doesn't have any.

i ask him to pm me here to swap some dollars around and he comes up with some story about forgetting his password for here. says he's at a friends house.

anyway, the next thing some has created an account called ClassyPloppy (not classyploppy like the real guys, opened the account 2 minutes before he pm'ed me) and is pm'ing me to trade some money. this is obviously real suss and i'm playing like 7 tables right now so kinda hard to focus, but it looks to me like someone has hacked classyploppys account on UB (hence not having password for here but his name matching up with pokerdb).

any thoughts/ideas/suggestions about what to do?? any UB reps around??

PS if it is the guy i don't mind swapping the money, i'm just kinda confused and hard to focus

  2. obv ship him your entire account balance. you will certainly get paid back, with an appropriate interest rate.
  3. How can you not take this guy's advice?

His screen name IS steve, FOR GOD'S SAKE.

HOW MUCH MORE SERIOUS CAN HE BE?
  4. duh.

just thought would be decent to try and help this guy in some way if his account has been hacked.

  5. He probably used something instead of the lowercase L like a 1 or I, depending on how it looks on the site. I'm sure there's some discrepancy.

  6. nah it's the exact same I saw it too and was curious myself... saw him at Mirage the other day so he is/was in Vegas

  7. i see a lot of these guys, they do something liek you said, maybe space, underscore or whatever, but this matches exactly.

    real weird.

see the new account started a thread too. trying to make it look legit?

  8. The account on P5s had a space at the beginning. It's also from the same IP as someone who's been banned in the past for making money transfer requests on the site. IP banhammer has been laid.

  9. nice work.

someone should tell ub of possible account hack ... anyone got any better ideas than just standard support email??

    ub reps?

  10. This is someone who made the classyploppy name with a capital "I" for the "L". If you try it they look exactly the same. Someone has done the same thing recently with PearlJammed. Don't fall for these scams people. Any big name player that you see all of a sudden asking for a trade at a random table is not the real person. They know enough people not to go around asking some random person for a trade. Let's stop all these criminals from stealing people's money. Report any person asking for a trade to the site itself.

  11. No it isn't and they don't look exactly the same.

The capital I is a straight line on UB, yes, but it extends a pixel or two below the line of the text, whereas the lowercase L does not.

    I checked this, lol.
  12. yeah, by the time i went back to double check name, the table it was on had closed. obv hard to tell at a glance as fooled both waco and I, lol.

i have never transferred anything, but as I said I try to string these guys along for a bit to waste their time and then report them.

  13. yeah this guy just im'ed me wanted me to send the money to jonturner or something cause hes "at a friends house" and his aim sn is <SPAN>ComeOnPhish1. </SPAN>

  14. i saw this scammer come to my table on ub and ask for trade, which was very funny. at first glance it does look like my name, classyploppy, however the real spelling of this scammers name was classypl oppy, the space on ub looks very small therefore hard to see. If anyone ever sees this person asking for a trade its a scammer and report him asap. I hate these scammers first it was other peoples names now mine. such low class losers to have to resort to this. anyways thanks for the notice

  15. someday all u dikkweeeds will wakeup and NEVER swap, lend,
or give out your aim.....its obvious all the sites will never fix
this problem which has been going on for years..
shut down CLASSLESSPOOOPY ...yesterday he was pearljammmer
tomorrow he'll be helensnurseeee.....and who woodnt giv to her!!

  17. legggggggggggy,

one day you'll learn that just because you're older than the majority of posters here, doesn't give you the right to call people dickweeds and type like a retard. It's not cute or funny, and just reinforces the opinion that most players have of you.
