You guys just gonna keep your money on? Im a little worried about what is going to happen. Just like to hear some of your thoughts on the matter?
-
Whats happening Dec. 1st?
-
as a player who sees poker as a means of secondary income in the future (hopefully near) i have all the money I need to stay properly rolled on the sites now. these are not funds I will need in real life and I plan on building a roll from there and all the bullshit will get figured out soon enough so when the time comes that I want to start withdrawing money everything will be all good.
-
US banks are stating they will not be accepting checks from online poker sites. Not sure about wires. Anyone know the ruling on wires?
-
yeah good point, if the money online isnt life changing and I dont need for everyday life, i think its worth the risk to leave online until everything is sorted out.

And if they're making statements like that now they wouldn't be accepting them now. So if you aren't having any major probs with your bank now nothing is likely to change on DEc 1 as all of the security measures have already been put in place. -

it really is tilting because I have a huge decision regarding withdrawing. I feel like these threads cause people to panic, including myself (poker is my only income). Not only do these unbacked claims screw with peoples heads, they are detrimental to the growth of online poker.
So plz GTFO unless you can back your ish up -
Ur fine everyone is. They cant take our money only no let us deposit. So imo money left on is a good idea

I guess when my bank sends me a notice that tells me I can't make deposits from third party processors that come from gaming sites or they will close my account they are just pranking me or I failed basic reading comprehension.
It tilts me that people are still ignorant enough on this issue to not know that the status quo is changing or that there are federal regulations that go in effect on December 1, 2009 that are intended to implement the intended purpose of the UIGEA.
Do not mistake this post for a "sky is falling" post,(this means you can save your knee jerk keystrokes), but many of us who can read and understand bank notices and federal regulations do understand that things are and will be different.
I am so happy for those of you who have not been notified of changes by your bank, but that hardly makes those of who have been notified less informed or scaremongers. It is a fact of life that some of us have to deal with.
It also tilts me that some of you are so uninformed that if something doesn't hit you directly in the face it must not be happening.
Finally, the search feature is your friend on issues like this. There has been much useful discussion and factual information provided, in fact there is an excellent recent thread started by Jennifear on this subject. -
This is an uniformed statement and should be ignored. imo
-
I have to think if you have a good relationship with your bank they will let you cash out one final time if they are not allowed to do this on a regular basis. The amount I would be cashing out is a fraction of what I have in the bank. I would have no problem taking my business to another bank if they would not accomodate me.
-
Yo man, you've completely misrepresented what I said. My rant was that I am sick of ppl making random claims that they have no backing for.

The fact of the matter is that this law has been passed for some time, dec 1 only means that the now MUST be complient with the law-which by the way-only limits payments TO a gaming site, not viceversa. That's actually the law.
So if you bank understands the law then you ought not worry about getting your payments. If they don't you could always choose to bank else.
And, imo, even under the very worst of conditions, (ie all bank IMMEDIATELY reject wires, cks, echks, etc,) it is likely the sites would purchase money orders and fed ex them.
So yeah, am I happy about the way things are headed, not particularly. Am I worried that I'd never be able to access the funds in my acct after 12-1, not really. -
hey willy, I deposited a check today from pstars ("royal bank o' canada" apparently...for $250.00 but the check was for $250.13). should I worry?
sick brag...if I wasn't a losing player ldo. -
I actually got the same thing requested a check for $300 but got it for $300.73 what exactly are those extra cents? It came from full tilt...and instead of one check I received 2 different ones for the same amount?!?! I emailed FT and still no answer...
-
Leaving it on....all $30....UB gave it to me anyways.
-
This may be a stupid question, but here goes. Why not just cash them at one of those pay-day loan places? Anybody here ever do that? I have no idea since I've never been to one. I know they'd charge a pretty steep fee, but if it avoids the bank hassles, I'd probably be willing to do it.
