  1. Ok first let me explain the situation. I am playing the $230 buy in second chance tournament at the Borgata Winter open. 6000 starting chips with 265 players with 30 minute levels. I have 56k with 15 players left after losing a big preflop race QQ to Ak obv and my table is playing 7 handed. The feild is extremely weak with 1 player 2 seats to my right holding almost 1/4 of the chips in play and is playing his stack very well. The ave is around 106k but my 56k stack still sits around 7th or 8th. Obv the majority of the money sits in the top 5 spots. Blinds increase to 4 and 8k with 1k ante after the break. I come back from the break utg. Now for my question. What range of hands should I be pushing here? (considering my stack only warrants moving in or folding)

Highlight below to see what I did right or wrong I pick up ATs andafter considering my options I move in. UTG+1 instantly reshoves JJand the small blind, who is extremely shortstacked calls off his last10k and shows A7o... and i am practically drawing dead. GG me.

  2. M of 3 and keep in mind I am playing for top 5 place, I am pushing any pocket pair, A7+, KQ, KJ, QJ, and most mid suited connectors.

Most of the times in live settings with position and the right chips stacks in the blinds I will not even look at my cards (with your chip stack) when I move in.
  3. I like bulldog's range, but I MIGHT fold here with some of the weaker hands (A7o..)since its the 1st hand after the break and other shorter stacks may get a little push happy (at least online....not sure about live)....

    also isn't effective M <3 (2.1)? after adjusting for the short table?...maybe I don't fold that A7o after all.....
  4. I push..Any suited Ace, Any King, suited connectors down to 78, any pair, any 2 cards that add up to 20.
  5. I'm pushing ATC.

    I guess I'm crazy.
  6. Only pushing ATC from late if 1st one in or maybe with limpers depending on the table.
    UTG not so much.
  7. The blinds are going to cost us about 1/4 of our stack. Plus we've lost our best chance to be first in the pot.

We need to double up more than once to get back in this thing. It's time to start getting lucky right now.

Please give me a good reason not to push ATC.
  8. I think that you need to not overpush here. You are UTG and about to blinds but also about to get late position. All in pushes get looked up more than people think because everyone knows about Harrington's thinking. 99 is definitely an all in push though. going through blinds will leave you with 42K, and your fold equity is still OK given that only one player is really deep.
  9. Shove about 15-20% of all hands here

Your ATs was huge here, good push.
