I'm heading to Vegas in a few weeks and I am looking to play 2/5 while I am there. Can anyone who has experience playing in this game tell me where there is a good 2/5 game. I have heard that Ceasar's carries a 2/5 with no cap. Can anyone verify this?
Are there other uncapped 2/5 games in vegas?
Thanks for all your help. -
Venetian, please go there - you will love it.
-
UCB can you elaborate please?
Is the venetian's room nicer than ceasars? -
2/5 games at Venetian are extremely loose from my experience and they have a $1K max buyin
-
oh no i've played plenty in atlantic city. aprox. a dozen times and i've been to vegas once two years ago but only played 1/2 nl then. thanks for the info.
-
I live in Vegas, best 2 2-5NL games are at Cesears and Wynn, neither is capped, Cesears is a weaker game with less money on the table, Wynn is a little tougher(not much) with more money on the table.

I'm a regular at the MGM so i must speak for it
Great room
If you want peace and quiet, and little conversation it is NOT the room for you.
The MGM is like a party
Girls dance on the bar next to it
studio 54 is next to it
the room is also very well spaced out
so you don't feel like your in a closet
as for action
2-5 is great, very loose, but there is a cap.
Im a regular in the 1/2 NL there, so I am not the perfect scout
the 1/2 is so full of weak, weak tourists i can't leave it.
Venitian is very nice, Caesars is a bit on the stuffy old side.
Bellagio is the best for high stakes
Geez -
Wynn has no cap on all the NL games they spread.
-
Allow me to preface by saying good luck, but you probably won't need it.
Caesar's game is nice, with no cap, and on some nights... it's the loosest in Vegas.
Venetian does have a good game... like most games at the Venetian, the players don't seem to care about money at all.
Wynn - The nicest poker room on the strip. They treat their players well and you can usually find a 2/5 game that fits your style. I will stress that game selection here is more important than pretty much any other room.
Green Valley/Red Rock - These are off strip "Station" casinos that server locals. The games are tight but easily beatable, as locals usually aren't the best players.
However, the best two 2/5 games in Vegas by far are:
RIO - get there between 2-4 in the afternoon for the best mix of players. They run an 11am tournament that gets 60-100 entrants that stick around for cash games after. They don't spread 1/2 so you get those players in the 2/5 game.
MGM Grand - Pretty much the best room in Vegas to make money at any level. They spread 1/2(200 cap) 2/5(500 cap) and 5/5(no cap)... these are probably the three easiest games to consistently make money in. The environment isn't great (the room is open-air with a bar in the middle, and it sits next to Studio 54 and the Rainforest Cafe). But the scenery is nice (try to be there around 3am when Studio 54 closes), and the sports book is right next door.
There are a few more places to talk about, but unless you are going to be there for several weeks, you probably won't visit or will be making too much money at the MGM.
Have fun,
~MH -
venetian hands down is the best...played there the week after new years and chopped there 100 dollar with one 50 dollar rebuy for 1500 (small field and gf had to eat dinner) and i also played their cash games...the 1-2 nl games will put you to sleep out there sometimes bc their so slow...the 2-5 game was really soft i took down a 700 dollar pot on my first few hands with the nuts to mid pair.....gl
get the chicken fingers...so money and double goose w/ redbull -
LOL...the 15 callers part made me chuckle.

Bellagio has 2/5 , $500 max
