Why would you make your premier events of the year all start in the afternoon during weekdays. They have to understand that most of the people playing in these events work for a living and are not going to take time off of work to play poker. Just stuns me from an organization that usually is ahead of the curve.
-
when would you suggest it start, and how should it structured?
edit: im sure they spent a lot of time trying to figure out how it could best work for everyone -
and as for the rest of the world, in europe we get to start most events late evening and play until early morning (which is ok for me as this is my normal playing schedule, but working europeans are put in a tough spot too), the middle east gets to start most events around midnight, the far east starts in the wee hours and antipodeans get to start with their breakfast
will people who live in one time zone ever stop thinking the whole world revolves around them? -
"will people who live in one time zone ever stop thinking the whole world revolves around them?"
I'd like to think so but superpowers have incredible egos. -
one or 2 that would fall in that time frame would be great. at least it would give us more than a couple shots.. and playing until 7 in the morning wouldnt be that bad... it means you went deep and would be worth the sleepless night, late start to work the next day. But to only be able to play on the weekend sucks.

stars did make the schedule so that the larger NLHE tournies were on Sundays, so most everyone can play those. I actually think having their "smaller" events start in the afternoon makes a lot of sense. If there is some event you want to play real bad, just take a half day from work or something.

yeah, so true, i guess that MUST be the reason that pokerstars sponsors the european poker tour and recently the asia pacific poker tour, how could i have misunderstood that until now?
**stars has been STRATEGICALLY diversifying its marketing focus / player base away from the US for some time now. at the wsop they didn't even dare have a single employee in the country and we stars qualifiers were handled by third party agents** -
I've never understood why the Sunday Million isn't the Saturday Million. Because of family and employment commitments, I will never be able to play a Sunday Million.
stars is terrible for MTT's if you live in the Eastern time zone of the USA. -
Zpaceman, you need to realize that europeans are not equals on pokerstars, for the same reason that Americans are not equals on partypoker (or any heavily European dominated site). Its not ignorance at all, I dunno what you are talking about.

if they ran the second chance events it would certainly help with this problem.
also im pretty sure that part of the reason that they run EPT and APPT (and others) is because of the fact that 18 and up can play there....obv. there are lots of other reasons, but im sure this has something to do with it as well -
they start them at these times so everyone around the world can play, an 8pm EST start would mean something like a 12:00am start for europe, and even something like a 5pm start EST would mean a 1 or 2pm start on the westcoast, which does not accomplish anything
-
USE VACATION TIME IF YOU HAVE A NORMAL JOB!!!
-
8pm est... is that the best for me no because im west coast but i could make it work... id have no problem with starting a few at 10am either and vary it... i just think variety in this would be good and give some people who are not full time players more opportunity....
have you read my replies where i said a few at this time (not all) and a few options for all would be nice...
and i could easily say --- zpaceman meet Chris Moneymaker... for a while everyone thought he was great then we learned... hes just not that good -- -
I dont play many MTT anymore but I have to say Hawaii has the best time zone for playing MTT's. We are 6 hours behind EST.

Thank you stars for making the wcoop schedule convenient for people like me. There is no set time that would accommodate everyone. Its a simple fact Americans > the rest of the world.
