Profit would be my guess. Beats the hell out of UB IMO.
I won a tourney a year or two ago on sportsbook and I was literally unbeatable. It was clear I was going to win way before we got to the final table. I could not lose a hand and Ive never experienced another heater like that, ever. -
I would suggest you scope all of the players who made the FT in both tourneys. If most of them are coming up the same way then its likely that on Cake, most people change their name all the time, making what you saw believable.
However, if something like 14 of the 18 players at the 2 FTs had a regular history, I would investigate more seriously and be concerned.
The only reasons that I can see for a site to allow name changes are these 2:
1) They would rather not deal with player concerns about dishonest behavior so they give all of their players the ability to be anonymous.
2) They are trying to cover up superusers and the like and render a sharkscope investigation moot.
Both are pretty scary in my eyes.
Say what you will about stars, but the fact that they are as on top of this stuff as they can be, means they care about their image because they don't want to jeopardize all of the money they are making.
If you are gonna deposit money on a site, make sure its one that fits the above paragraph, because like it or not, that is the ONLY thing that prevents them from stealing/freezing your money on the slightest whim. They are otherwise untouchable for the most part. -
you can legally change names every 7 days on cake...

So everyone's already said it but the name change explains the sharkscope and maybe they didn't play in the other tourny's because they only qualified for the 100k. FTR, the only tourney on cake I played when I won was the 250k (brag obv.) Not saying the collusion eluded to doen't happen because everyone pretty much knows it does but conspiracy theory in tournys with 1200 runners are tough to swallow (just ask CrazyMarco...lol)

yes...this was prob. the most shady thing ive ever seen, i mean who jus wins both of the biggest mtts' on the site, the same day. I cant remember the user name, but it was about 3-4months ago. I re-call looking up the players stats' or previously played mtt's and there wasnt many, but I think that since you can change your name so often results are not saved etc.

yeah that happened
