<H3 id=no26468>Vinny Vinh Pulls a Vinny Vinh</H3>
Vinny Vinh has done it again. We're 60 minutes out from the end of dinner and he has not returned to his seat. He's been blinded off to 34,000 so far, and at this rate he will not make Day 2 if he doesn't come back.
<H3 id=no26475>More on Vinh</H3>
Brandon Schaefer is to the right of Vinny Vinh's chair, so he can steal Vinh's big blind whenever he feels like it.
Seriously WTF???

Guy has serious problems. They should bar him from playing until he can get his life situated.
-
someone needs to chaperone him when he is away from the table...
-
He's a jopke.
-
Is he just a crackhead or what
-
yea what's the deal w/ this guy- who is he and why does anyone care?
-
id love to be able to not show up for the 2nd day and cash every tournament i play
-
LOL,
Are people really surprised?
Dude is addicted to meth.
I'd be surprised if he actually did show up after the dinner break. -
WHERE DO YOU READ THIS
-
From a blog post I found on Google. It eludes to DoubleUp's post.
Shane "Shaniac" Schleger, who was just one table over from Vinh on the first day of the event, had this to say on a 2+2 thread:
<blockquote>"I actually think there's a good chance that the reason VV didnt show up today was because of some kind of incapacitation (whether it be death, hospitalization or whatever). When I saw him yesterday, I couldn't believe how he looked--he was emaciated and appeared like he had aged years in the course of a month. I'm assuming it's the result of some kind of hard-drug problem, but I have no real insight.
Vinnie played one table over from me all day yesterday, seeming to hold onto chips the whole day and not missing any opportunities to refer to himself in the third person ("Don't they know how Vinny Vinh plays?"). It's almost inconceivable to me that he missed day 2 with the chip lead unless something drastic happened. Also, fwiw, his stack outlasted over 60 players."
</blockquote>
While we thought all poker playing Asians referred to themselves in the third person, Shaniac's observations of Vinh's possible drug-induced mental state are backed by comments made by Shannon Shorr, who also was playing in the same event. Shorr remarked:
<blockquote>"I saw Vinny Vinh around the tables yesterday and he looked like he was on a different planet from hard drug abuse. I very much dislike playing with Vinny because of the way he treats other players and dealers, but I really hope that he is found to be in ok shape. It, indeed, must've been very serious for a player like Vinh to miss this kind of shot at a bracelet."</blockquote> -

Vinnie Vinh's empty chair isn't having much luck -- it's down to 16,900

Vinnie Vinh
<H3 id=no26522>The Vinnie Vinh Saga Continues</H3>
Still no sign of Mr. Vinh. His chip stack has now eroded to a modest 19,775. Basic math tells us that he (or "his chair" if you prefer) will in fact see Day 2b. Vinh's absence may well redefine the term "three-peat." Those of you "in the know" are well aware that this is neither the first, nor the second, but in fact the THIRD time that Vinh has gone AWOL from a tournament at what could only be described as a rather "clutch" time. Will he return? No one seems to know. Stay with Pokernews.com as we bring you the latest updates on this and other headlines from the 2007 World Series of Poker Main Event.
He will come back on day 2b and become the CL, THEN he will never play again.

I didn't laugh the first time or the second time but lolololololol are you fucking kidding me??
-
His friends say he's busto and always asking for $$, and they say if you want to help him dont give him any and shit like that...so who the hell keeps staking this guy and not handcuffing themselves to him? He really needs to be in rehab, not the main event. Truly tragic.
-
Stu Unger anyone? What a waste.
-
any bets he will show up tomorrow?

Vinnie Vinh
<H3 id=no26564>Vinnie Vinh's Chair Limps In</H3>
Vinnie Vinh's empty chair has outlasted many professional poker players and will start Day 2b with 3,300 in chips.
I honestly cannot understand how a person can do this 3 str8 times. WOW
Cajun sends -
This truely seems to be more of a running joke than anything. Whoever is staking him, I hope they keep doing it, because I enjoy these stories of Vinh's chair. Heck, I have to admit, if I ever played Vinh and took a big pot from him, I'd be tempted to tell him he's worse than his chair, just to see if it tilted him.
I don't wish any ill will on him (I don't know him), but this is getting rediculous. -
Years from now poker noobs will wonder about the legend of Vinny Vinh's chair.
-
this story is going to end badly, you get the feeling we're going to hear some really bad news within a few weeks/months.
Terribly terribly sad. -
I find it amazing the guy always has chips to be blinded away, he must play pretty well when he's actually playing.
-
Cocaine's a hell of a drug.
-
Why do people care about this drug addict scum bag????????!!!!!!!!!!! <span> Fuck im'.</span>
-
You bet I lose, they care because he is a human being and they are humans. They care because "there but for the Grace of God, go I". They care because "no man is an island". Drug addicts are your sister, your mother, your brother, your friend, your daughter, your son.....unless they've never tried it.
It's easy to judge when you or someone you know has never had the problem. It's tougher when a loved one has the problem & you are helpless to help. Be kind. :) -
I saw him earlier in the day and he looked suprisingly fine. He was right in front of me coming back from one of the breaks. I say suprisingly because I saw him a couple tables over from me in an earlier event and he was definitely on something... he was hooting and hollering and couldn't sit in his chair for more than two minutes... he kept getting up and stretching and doing jumping jacks, etc. Today he looked very normal and almost, well, sad.
-
you seem like a good person helen.
-
I'll bet no. He doesn't show up when he's scheduled to play, so I highly doubt he'd show up on his day off...
-
Although I do not agree with Helen's religious views, I do feel the same. It's sad when one human being can sit here and say "why does anyone care what happens to him".
-
Well, Hell, I think everyone does it all the time. Let's be honest, people are dying in the millions every year in Africa, many due to starvation where there is plenty of food to feed everyone. Yet, how often to you "care" about them. Ok, you may say you care, but what does that mean? You say you care, then fire up another MTT to start playing in.
I'm not intending to get all preachy, I really don't do anything either. But, if you aren't related and you don't know the person, who is Vinny Vinh to you but one of the other 285 million people that live are in the US right now? I don't see anything wrong with someone saying they don't care about him, maybe they are being more honest than most people here.
