I know a while ago, you said blocking/defensive bets were pointless and a bet is either a bluff or a value bet. I was just browsing Daniel's new site and saw a sample video. what do u think about this?

after watching the video, I think this is very basic info and is simplified for beginning or moderate skill level players... bad advice for thinking players IMO

Yea he is talking about minimizing damage when you have a medium strength hand that you think is beat by betting small on the river. Im pretty sure check folding minimizes the damage pretty well.

idk, an aggro with air will probably raise making it harder for u on the river. and probably leak more chips if u call.... I probaby would have checked raised the flop

Why can't you use a "blocking bet", vs thinking plyers, if you also use a "reverse blocking bet".. or other plays to balance your range in this situation?
To say a certain type of play is bad in general, for everyone, is a terribly nieve statement imo.
To directly disagree with an idea/play that has worked, over many years, for Daniel is like trying to argue the world isn't round.. it's pointless.. Or Kind of like saying "I drink everyday, but I'm a casual drinker not an alchoholic" or "I have 100 poker boooks, but I've never read 1- I just used to like to waste party poker points"

yes waco, youre right, good players think the block bet is bad because they can exploit it. the thing is, the players you mentioned, including yourself and other elite 'thinking players' make up for about 1% of the total poker population. so in theory, against most random players at the table, a blocking bet would work fine. and then against guys like yourself and busto, people can put out a fake blocking bet with the nuts and let you guys hang themselves. but again, someone could go an entire tournament without ever playing a hand against a player who has the ability to raise a blocking bet.
in response to the 'having a few drinks daily' thing. I'll defend you on that as I often have a glass of wine while playing but rarely drink enough to be drunk. and to whoever brought it up, try harder -
