The live Indian casino lobby in WA is the group that pushed this legislation through and forced pokerstars' hand. Going and playing in those casinos and cardrooms supports the very people who have taken away our rights to play on the Internet, and I for one will never set foot in Snoqualmie, Muckleshoot, Tulalip, or any of the other casinos here, or spend a dime on anything affiliated with any of those tribes, because of what they have done. Anyone who does set foot in those casinos is implicitly consenting to the violations of our personal freedoms that have been allowed to transpire here.

Losing FTP is the most terrifying thing in my world right now. However, are you just chucking blind speculation out there to scare the crap out of us, or do you actually have a source for this? -

Fact or fiction... Regardless I'm probably moving from the place I have lived for 24 years. Leaving my entire family behind. -
I have an idea although it may take some organizing and I don't have the time. If we could get the PPA to organize a "Washington Poker Solidarity Week" during which ALL Native American Casinos in every state will be boycotted by on-line poker players. If we can make this a National event and get some news coverage it would definitely send a message.
POKER TO THE PEOPLE! -
I just sent a message to PXF and asked them to request that all their members join the facebook group. If anyone else wants to do the same at the other teaching sites, that would be great.
BTW, in just 4 days we are over 400 members. -
I tried posting on the PPA forum but there is no live button to start a new thread or reply to an already started one. Anyone know why? I was logged on to the PPA forum and it's basically useless becuz I can't post.
Does anyone else on this thread have access to the PPA forum? If so could you start a message thread concerning the boycott idea?
Thanks. -

Full Tilt poker always likes to play the, “we abide by all laws” but feel the UIGEA doesn’t concern poker. But, states like Washington are one of the few that make it illegal for the actual player and not the cardroom. Despite this fact, tens of thousands of players still play at Washington State poker sites without concern for the law. We can not condone it, but simply state the facts.
Other popular online poker sites such as PlayersOnly, Carbon Poker and Sportsbook Poker have had long standing blockage of players from Washington State so the recent developments by pokerstars are nothing new.
The info I offered about FT came from an article. I tried to post the entire article but it was block by admin. I'll try to post this link
http://www.compatiblepoker.com/poker...ker-sites/4273
That's an excellent idea, but every time I've been on PPA's forum, it was a ghost town. Weeks & months go by with out comments. Send them an email. Send a few there emails. Spread the word thru active forums, too I will post it on the other forums I use when I see it here.Originally Posted by AYBABTU

I sent the PPA an email and asked them to send a message to all of their facebook followers. They have over 46,000 followers. It would only take them 1 minute so I hope they do it.

This is the email I received from FTP this morning. I basically asked them if anything was going to change for real money players in WA state. The part about them having further info on the status of real money play in WA in the near future honestly doesn't sound that great to me. fjadflkadjfkladsj gonna be scewed if ftp stops serving us.
Dear Michael,
In light of recent legal events, Full Tilt Poker notifies all of its players from Washington State that we are closely monitoring and have been assessing the recent legal developments that have occurred in Washington along with our advisors.
While the option to play real-money poker games of skill is still available on Full Tilt Poker, we will have further information about the status of real-money play by Washington residents in the near future.
In the meantime, please rest assured that your funds are safe, secure and accessible at all times. We are committed to protecting our players? ability to come play within our virtual online cardroom, and will continue to provide the best online poker room available worldwide.

From reading AC's posts, zander or anyone else pretty unsure/apprehensive about moving... just wanna give my 2 cents.
Most of us are pretty young and I'm sure there are a lot of people that are considering moving now that have never really been out of their home environment or friends from around where they grew up. I think getting out there and living in new place is one of the best things I have ever done. You might find that you move somewhere that becomes so much better than what you're used to, but you just never realized it because you're used to what you've always been around. One of the coolest things about poker is that it lets us have so much freedom, especially at a young age where it's definitely the best to be hopping around or traveling or whatever since most of us don't have wives/kids/jobs tying us down.
Also another good thing is that it looks like there will be a number of solid players looking to get out of WA, that might not have a ton of connections outside the state. Like zander said about getting together and talking about stuff, there is a pretty good opportunity here for people to get a group together and probably form an even better poker environment than the one they are in, while experiencing somewhere completely new. While it might feel shitty that the WA poker situation is kind of forcing people to move... I really think for a lot of people it can become a really good thing and something to possibly be thankful for in the future. -
Yea , totaly agree...Im moving to vegas on the 30th of october , although im not extreme thrilled about the move im excited for change. Still hoping in the mean time fulltilt doesn't shut us down , that would suck.

I like this... I've only lived in Washington for a year though, and I've lived in Japan for 5 years, Prague for a little while, and on the East Coast for the rest of my life. My problem is that it took me 31 years to find a place in the US that I'd actually like to live long-term, and that's no longer possible if poker is going to be part of my life. I was at the Sounders' US Open Cup victory last night, having a blast with a bunch of great friends, one of whom was my old college roommate but most of whom I've only known for the year I've been here...

I'd still love to meet up with some of the other WA people considering the move, or not wanting to move but kinda forced to especially after that foreboding email from FTP yesterday, but haven't gotten any responses on that front. I've moved 6 times in 6 years and was hoping to be done with that is why I'm so distraught.
I've only been playing poker full time for a few months, before it was just a somewhat profitable hobby while I taught and while I looked for work after losing my teaching job. Everything's up in the air now... -

Full Tilt pulled the plug too. The PPA will be working hard in Washington in 2011 to change this law.

FourFives - I'm willing to help. I'm entrenched in the state and do not have the option of bailing, so I'm up for a battle. I'm not a big player in the internet community, but am motivated to correct the injustice of RCW 9.46.240
