1. I was on the side of "we are playing for a lot of money, we can suffer through an uber-long session. However after getting deep last night I realized that this is just riddiculous, the main event is going to take close to 36 hours or more, that is an absurd amount of time to expect people to play straight. And the World Championships of Online Poker should not be decided on who is the least tired, it should be who is the best player. Also wtf is this 30 minute break? All it does is make things 10 times worse, what do you think people are going to do during this 30 minutes, fall asleep and then wake up in 30 minutes and keep playing? So bascially cosign here if you think stars should replace the 30 minute break with a 12 hour break or something along those lines and I will notify stars about this petition.

edit: I am definetly NOT asking them to change the actual structure of the tournament, I agree its awesome, but the main event is going to take almost 2 full days to complete, I know I don't have the endurance for that, if you guys feel the same way sign here.
2. I agree. Or make the levels 20-25 minutes, that would make a big diffence.

Personally, I know with my job, I wont be able to play the main event if something dosent change.

3. I absolutely agree with the 12 hour break.
4. I <3 the structure!
1
5. I agree with a 12h break or something, next day after 12 hours... BUT DONT CHANGE THE STRUCTURE. its awesome

6. I emailed stars and they are not going to change this year. It is just wrong. I will sign the petition. I think the levels should be 20 minutes or the events 2 days with a 12 hour first day cap.

7. I agree turn it into a 2 day event however dont touch the structure. The structure is unbelievable.
8. 100% cosign

great structure, players need a 12th hour break until the next day

the reason i am not going to play a lot of WCOOP events is bc it is too much to expect someone to sit there for 20+ hours

its unhealthy and unsafe and if stars actually cared about the safety of their players then they wouldnt force them to play 20+ hours

so if the main event is expected to take 36 hours, that is 6 hours longer than this guy....

9. i dont know, i love the 30 min levels, but man, im so tired right now, im halfway hopin i bust to avoid hell later on. id really like to play the 2nd chance, but i think thats prolly foolish

10. lol cmoney, 72 hours is a hell of a long longer than 36...
2
11. Agreed. 2 day event but do NOT change the structure.

12. I love the structure and don't hate playing that long but agree 2 day events would be better. Keep the structure because these things only come around once a year.

So Im signing on having 12 hour break after 12 hours of play and please no 30 minute break.

13. agree

14. Totally agree with Menlo... obv its the biggest event of the year online and people say deal with it?? Umm you know the WSOP Main is the biggest event of the year and they dont just say deal with it. Normally look to play 12-15hrs day 1 of the WSOP main and I dont see why something similiar can be done with the WCOOP Main. Half the tournament or so will be through and they can come back and finish in a much more reasonable manner after a reasonable break.

Not to mention playing live in the Main Event for 12 hrs is much different than sitting infront of a computer screen for the same amount of time. It makes more than perfect sense to have a 2 day tournament when it can potentially be running 30 hours.
15. lol, i read it late last night, i thought it was 30 hours, 3 days , 30 hours, same thing

w/e , you get my point tho?
16. I AGREE!

Even though I probably won't be playing in this tournament, I, as a poker player, can't help but whole-heartedly agree. I can't even believe that stars would expect players to play for >/= 30 hrs. straight in their biggest, most reputable tournament of the year...Stars is awesome, don't get me wrong, they're obviously the best in online poker, hands down...this is just completely absurd though! Seriously, I'm scratching my head and searching for a viable reason as to how they CAN'T see that this is defies all logic, common sense, and good business practice (<-- if anything)?

Stars, this is your biggest f'in tournament of the year, the one that draws the best players in the WORLD, both online and live!! Make it such that the challenge lies in playing poker against the best of the best, not in trying to keep your eyes open as you reach the point in the tournament where the importance of good decision-making is paramount...SFOBV!!
17. The WSOP ME day 1s were messed up horribly this year. The made us play 6 levels (15 hours) which is terrible and better be fixed for next year.

18. if pokerstars doesnt change this it will be a huge mistake, for being the best site out there and taking into consideration all of the other changes that theyve made bc of their players speaking up, id hope theyd step up once again and show why they are the #1 site out there

havent they learned, they finally updated their structure to catch up with ftp and they should mimic ftp in this instance to and make the 1k and 2500 2 day events, or i guess just the 2500 or really this isnt some "special" elite series of tourneys

plzzzzzzzz change this for us immed, ftp got it right

19. Well, I just hope that they don't decide to shorten levels instead of make it 2 day tourneys. Be careful with what you wish for. Although I do agree as I was falling asleep in front of the computer last night.
20. I agree and I am not even going to playing in this event!

k thanks.
21. Right it was retarded this year. But still 15 hrs isnt the same as the potential 25-35hrs the WCOOP Main could have you sitting infront of a computer screen. I remember the 05' ME I played and play was over Day 1 around 12 hrs in or so. Regardless, 12-15 hrs is not as bad as the WCOOP will be. So atleast they could make it "as bas" as the WSOP ME and have ya play 12-15hrs with a break and come back for probably another 12-15 hrs.
22. Snap, I agree I don't want to change the structure but to be perfectly honest I would even accept a slight hit in the structure if it meant not having to play for 36 hours. I mean think about it, you and I were struggling last night and we only played about half (if that) of the time it would take to complete the WCOOP main.

23. I will sign it just because it is the right thing to do. Live players arent forced to play that long in tournies. Yes they play longer in cash games but thats by choice.
24. “Honey, I am playing in a major poker tournament and I will not be able to help with dinner, or help bath the kids or read the kids bedtime stories or get the kids ready for school, or pick the kids up from school or help with dinner. sorry “

Yeah right
25. agree please make a 12 hour break, but leave the structure just as it is.

26. Someone needs to talk to Negreanu. Didn't he get stars to put up deep stack 100/200 games within an hour or so of the other high stakes players asking him about it?
27. I agree. Mentioned this in earlier thread. Definitely needs to be changed.
Also, agree that structure shouldn't be touched

28. And also it really shouldnt matter whether you are playing or not to have an opinion on this. It affects all poker players in general. I say this to the responses you get well if you playing for xxx$$ deal with it. Well guess what there is such a thing as a rail too. Not to mention in the ME you could play 20+ hrs potentially and really not have that "big" a payday. But plenty of people like to watch these tournaments just like any other tournament. Esp is there are some great players still left. I for one ended up crashin last night probably around 3am even though the tournament still had around 100 players left. I knew this shit was gonna take till proably atleast 9am and thats ridiculous to think im gonna stay up n watch that. Im one who plays late at night myself and dont really give a shit about late hrs but past 6am is getting ridiculous.
29. Definitely agree. It's hard enough to play for 20 hours or so, but factor in that you're probably playing 4 tables or more and the mental fatigue has to be ridiculous. 2 days would be perfect-maybe start day 2 at around 6 pm so everyone can get some rest.

30. pokerstars obviously has a vested interest in the narcotic and amphetamine industry
