a week of multi grinding

    I just finished a week of grinding mtt's which went pretty bad. It was the most tourney volume I've ever put in I think. I lost about 4k which isn't too bad but I just don't get how some of you regulars do this. When i bust out of a mtt I either hate myself for bad play or hate the deck.

    I also don't see how this is THAT proftiable in the long run. Even the top Mtter's must have severe droughts where they lose 30-40k plus in a month. I can't see any Mtter except halfrek and a select other few to win more than 250k this year.

    It also sucks that everyone is gettin better at mtt's. Every time I'm in a tourney with 2 tables left i recognize half of the players. Sometimes I think the complete novices and whales of online poker are becoming extinct and it makes me question why I spend all this time playing.

    Sorry for the rant. I'm just bored/frustrated of tournament poker right now, but I'm sure I will be here on sunday registering for 10-20 mtt's chasing the pipe dream......

    part of making it as a MTT player is your attitude and urs needs work. Seems like uve been around long enough and had enough success to where im surprised to see u posting this. Just stay positive all it takes is 1 tourn to turn your week/month/year 100% around yes id kno. Just keep playing ur best worry about what u can control, keep putting in the volume with good br management and youll see results. GL

    keep grinding kiddo u will get that 100k score one day. u seem to have had some success keep up the hard work and more good things will come of it. btw i noticed wubanga was one of your fav players in your profile hes a nice guy, helped me with my game and ive had some decent scores lately.

    Def feel you dave, and appreciate your response. I have had solid success, but everytime i smash one big, I then lose a few K back instead of continuing my heater like other's I read about seem to do. Your obv positive right now cuz u jsut shipped 100 ( congrats, vwp btw). I had my biggest cash ever 2 sundays ago and now i have had a small (but feels like forever) drought with a few close calls. It just seems like others are getting it done better than me at the end.

    Another issue is that I have made more money at cash games than mtt's. although its closer now. So when i lose 4-5k or whatever over 10 days it feels like I time where I could have been 8-9 tabling cash games.

    I get addicted to mtt's like crack rock sometimes, which I'm sure others can relate too. I just burn myself out I guess.

    I agree Cmoney. It's silly do base it on such a small sample. It just felt like I battled hard this week and came up empty. I don't play as many mtt's as you so am not accustomed to the 10 plus hr days and all. btw your nice with it. Pz

    sup cureit. Ya, wubanga is a good friend in real life. He lent me 200 when I didn't have a penny to my name and i ran that up. It sucks that he caught a bad rep on here because of bdbeatslayers antics. I see you've been doing well lately. keep shipping. stay high

    i get into spells kinda where i just keep playing until i get a big score. Every time i do i take a few days off. Gonna be easier this time around since im going on vacation this coming sunday till next so no poker for me for a while. Plus ive been drunk every night this week so i could care less about playing right now. Dont mean to hijack ur thread, nevertheless my point is just keep playing till you get that big break and it will pay for the time spent (hopefully) and then relax for a bit and repeat. At least thats what i do GL.

    Def. glad to hear your gettin bent and enjoying your recent score.u said " i get into spells kinda where i just keep playing until i get a big score." this is exactly what I did and have done a couple times in the past. next thing i know I haven't left the house very much in days, smoked a half ounce, and practically grew a beard.

    I just read that you go to UHA. I grew up a mile from there on steele rd. I lived in the west end of hartford for the last 2-3 yrs, but moved to boston bout 2 weeks ago. I hope you spend some of that 100k at the gold club yo!!!

    haha yeah sometimes it takes longer than other times. Stay sane, go out on weekends only play 1 session a day like register from 12-3pm or from 7-10 or something. And yeah going back for my Junior year sep 1st, its not a bad school they have a good music program so im enjoying that. And ha i need to turn 21 (october) and then ill start goin out. Obv too lazy to get a fake.
