  1. I've been active lately and donked off some chips early... not sure how much that factors into the way this hand is played. My hand isn't repped here, but what am I beating, what hands are raising me here? pokerstars Game #24235679108: Tournament #135708757, $760+$40 Hold'em No Limit - Level IV (50/100) - 2009/01/24 16:08:33 ET Table '135708757 5' 9-max Seat #4 is the button Seat 1: tnetter (5465 in chips) Seat 2: DonRane (4530 in chips) Seat 3: baremoney (6860 in chips) Seat 4: Zenni11 (10125 in chips) Seat 5: molswi47 (5475 in chips) Seat 6: PiKappRaider (4780 in chips) Seat 7: Pourlemerite (5720 in chips) Seat 8: HotKarlMC (10620 in chips) Seat 9: P121YAN (3030 in chips) molswi47: posts small blind 50 PiKappRaider: posts big blind 100 *** HOLE CARDS *** Dealt to PiKappRaider [4c 7d] Pourlemerite: calls 100 HotKarlMC: folds P121YAN: folds tnetter: folds DonRane: folds baremoney: folds Zenni11: folds molswi47: calls 50 PiKappRaider: checks *** FLOP *** [7c 7h 9d] molswi47: checks PiKappRaider: checks Pourlemerite: checks *** TURN *** [7c 7h 9d] [3d] molswi47: checks PiKappRaider: bets 300 Pourlemerite: calls 300 molswi47: raises 930 to 1230 PiKappRaider:

  8. Yuck. Flat? If he's bluffing he will probably slow down if not he will fire away. Sounds weak and prolly is. IDK. I suck. gl.
  9. U'll chop against 78 or 76...call. Asssuming a rag doesn't come on river

EDIT: doubt he's bluffing here imo.
  10. if u doubt hes bluffing then what do u beat, and why flat or why raise or why fold?

  11. I'd call the turn 100%, and probably fold to a river bet.

with a hand that beats a naked 7 (which u very well could have) he has to take this line cause it gives him max value. having said that, if he knows u know this he can bluff here ect (although i doubt he's bluffing too cause its a qualifier and a tourney and if u think he's bluffing cause he's a highstakes cash game player you're probably just leveling yourself)

    **edit** so fold the turn

  13. It looks a lot like some sort of seven to me or even 33. I don't see how you can call here, I wouldn't see this guy raising as a bluff that often.

  14. Such a good spot to bluff if you were him, but also such a good chance your beat.

  15. U can bet flop here too but check is fine. The turn theres 300 in the pot and u bet 300? With them checking this flop they arent gonna suddenly pay u off unless they have u beat/caught up. Betting 150-200 allows for ppl to make mistakes whereas betting 300 sorta forces ppl to have u beat (assuming they have a clue). At least when ur raised w/ ur 150-200 chip bet it will be wider than them raising a pot sized turn bet.

Sick spot as played tho im not sure what id do. Im leanin more towards flatting, shoving is dumb since worse is like never ever calling u here. Folding is 2nd best, i mean can u really check this flop then lead fold on the turn w/ ur hand? That just seems super weak to me. Just bet smaller on the turn, call the r/r and check call river. It opens up his range the most and saves u chips if ur wrong.

  16. Seems likes its between fold and call. Raising is just not good here for the reasons dave mentioned. I lean towards call on the turn because he could possibly be raising as a semi bluff in a good spot or w/ a hand that he believes is best but is not. If he fires another large shell on the river you probably have to fold as he is a thinking player and your hand looks pretty damn strong after you call the turn raise. Just a barfy spot here as you do end up chopping with quite a few likely hands containing a 7 as well depending on the river card.

Really? I can't really think of a better spot to bluff.....
  18. why ?

bc its an ept qualifier with a good structure?

bc its only 50/100 and people tend to make fancy bluffs at this stage?
(regardless of whether theyre a hs cash reg or not)

weird spot but i think that 200 is better bet on turn and as played fold

  19. OK so I flatted here... I also felt like my loose table image meant more than I probably mentioned. River came 3 to pair the board and he shoves.... NOW WHAT????

    Thread Starter
  20. So the board is 7 7 9 3 3. If you did put him on a 7 arnt you snap calling now?
  21. Im nowhere near your level and that is why im asking if it wasnt clear?
  22. Imo, im flatting the turn everytime. And when he shoves I think that yells hes bluffing here and I super snap him ESPECIALLY when the board pairs theres no way im folding. Idk maybe im bad but Im snap flatting turn and snap calling the river shove everytime. And even if the board doesnt pair on the river im snapping prolly.
  23. thing is, i feel like i flipped my hand face over announcing the 7, i guess maybe a draw but thatd be crazy. does the shove scream strength or does it scream bluff???

im thinking that its possible he turned bot set and rivered quads, knowing i cant fold if i have the boat, so he shoves... he could even have 99 or 97 and slowplayed it twice, but i dont know why he wouldnt bet turn if there was no action on the flop, which makes me lean towards 33 more.

however, i still assume that the 3 solidifies my hand. if he had the 7 with a bigger kicker now we split (even tho why call off to split?). i did just call the turn tho and maybe he thinks he can run me over and was shoving most river cards.

im still left with a decent amount of chips to maneuver if i fold, but if i get bluffed out here thats just... well damn u know

i just cant put his line together here

  24. dont think u can call the turn and fold to a river 3?? the 3 couldve really only helped...

  25. ^^^ i dont think you can fold to a river three after calling the turn either. that river was one of the best cards for your hand. my line for the hand.... i check the flop and i bet like 200 on the turn instead. im calling the raise on the turn and defiently calling the river

  26. sooo did u call and chop or did he have a mawnster.
