1. I have been wanting to give back to the community for awhile now, I started out not knowing anyone in poker and slowly doing better thanks to the help and guidance of many pocketfivers including but not limited to: Annette_15, WestmenloAA, AK87, Thorladen, DumpingKGB, and USCTrojans.

I feel like this is the best time to do a well, as the WSOP is 3 weeks away and I am just relaxing in Malibu right now.

Feel free to ask any questions you want pertaining to poker, my life, your life, or anything really.

  2. U are my idol.

    Oh and 1st.
  3. What is your story?
  4. 3rd?

    Edit: 4th
  5. What lessons did you learn from your association(s) or conversations with JJ?

What advice would you give to a young player wondering if "poker" is the choice for their future?
  6. The best part of the wells...you have to be honest.

With that said.... Is JJProdigy still backing you, live or online?

What's the most unethical thing (in the eyes of the poker community) you have done in poker?

  8. Are there any sacrifices you feel like you had to make in order to be a succesful online player? Like did you isolate friends/girlfriend because of your playing time, have to give up on other passions/hobbies? etc...

I am 24 years old, started playing poker online when I was 20.

I was in college at Plattsburgh State University, playing basketball for the college team and my friend introduced me to poker and I was hooked. I ended up playing a ton online.

After acouple years I woke up one morning and decided I was not happy at school anymore so I decided to leave with one semester left.

I left, not much money to my name, and had some success online. I have continued to have fairly regular success online and live and try to grow as a person and as a player every day.

Quite recently I have made the jump to business, involved in alot of business projects so I wont have to rely on poker earnings to make a living.

If theres any specific questions you have dont hesitate to ask.

Believe it or not I didnt learn too much specific poker strategy as he doesnt like teaching much. He did however help me find my confidence which I believe has been a huge part of my success.

The advice I would give a young player is that there is time.. learn whats right for you, play poker as a hobby rather than a job if you are still in school. It will be there when you get out. (Hard to say since I left, but thats my advice)

In college definately, I think poker was one of the main causes of my gf and I to break up. Not only her, but the one before her too.

Ive now realized its just a game, and I play very little compared to what I used to..

Generally ill play 1-2 days a week mtts now. I did not have to give up any passions or hobbies. I stopped playing basketball competitively, but thats about it and that was due to an argument with the coach where the end result was me being cut from the team.

I think their ability to really analyze every play and to know what their opponents are thinking are two of the main things that seperate them from other players.

I know it sounds really boring, but they play their opponents while everyone else plays the cards.

Its really all experience. What took me to the next level was one day I just decided to play my A+ game once a week rather than my C+ game 6-7 days a week. I started really doing well after I decided that.

Also going to the gym has been a huge part of my success, everyone knows about the mental side but the physical side is just as important.

I have a secret way of taking notes, however I dont think I have any on you. In general I feel like you are pretty agressive and you pick your spots very well.

I think making my first WSOP ft and having it be televised was really fun. It was a super large field and my first real tournament in the WSOP, I am truly proud of that accomplishment.

Well, going in 4th in chips and getting 9th truly sucked but there were a few fun side stories.

The Norman Chad interview was fun, hes actually super funny and I was very nervous talking to him the first time I did.

The morning of I was SUPER careful, I cant even describe it. I wanted nothing to go wrong. Example: Shaving took like 10 minutes, I made sure I didnt cut myself etc.

I loved the experience though, wish I could have done better, next time though.

  28. I've tried reading the poker books and the online training sites, but still feel like im not improving in my game. What advice would give on how improve? I'm not a beginner but i'm not great either. I would say i'm a decent player that knows most of the basics. Did you study HH's and what did you look for when studying?
