I find it absolutely laughable all these posts talking about how poor a player he is. Its on par with people in the past thinking that Tom McEvoy tight is the only way to play poker. Sure he has blatant fundamental holes in how he plays the game, but to say that he is horrible is not only funny, but completely ignorant. Its the same thing as saying that since Barry Bonds cant throw that he is a bad baseball player, or since Gretzky was a bit weak that he was a poor hockey player. Vietcong plain and simple dominates online mtts. He will continue to dominate. IN this fasion? No, he to will exp a downswing, but to think that he is not going to be a good mtter forever is just foolish. I dont know if you guys have any exp with low limit NL cash, but if u sit at at a table there is often one complete donkey sitting with 9 buy ins. Sometimes he loses it back, other times he does not. He plays completely reckless, and when things are going his way breaks the table. HE is a losing cash player, but nowhere to the extent that people think he woud be. That style, which cannot beat cash games, is a good style for nlhe mtts. Why? Because u need to get all the chips. There is nothign wrong with taking the wrong side of 70 30s, and even doing that often if you are consistenly putting yourself in position to win. Vietcong gets a big stack or busts. Period. When he gets chips, he closes according to the numbers better then anyone in history. 23 pct of the time he cashes, he wins. Instead of bashing him, many of the players on here would be better served by learning from him. Not learning from the mathematical side of his game, but learning from his game theory. His metagame. M8king moves is the number 1 ranked player on here, but anyone who thinks he has a fundamentally sound version of poker is wrong.

To me it is funny all the people saying it cant last, when is has, and obviously will continue to last. You can be a winning mtt player consistently getting your money in horribly. If when you get chips, you continue to run the table. It is actually advisable to gamble as much as possible for a big stack. People who talk about small ball are just throwing terms out there, and actually speaking in a matter that is stupid. There is no small ball in online mtts. You can go ahead and small ball your way to a 10 pct ROI, when the massive donkeys who never fold put up numbers 10x that. The structure of online mtts rewards gambling. It rewards donkish aggression and massive overcalls. There are no 30 minute blind levels. The best player doesnt win in the end. Have you ever wondered why at the end of an online mtt there are always massive overbetters, who will raise then call any shove, or make a 7x the blind raise? Maybe instead of bashing how they play, learn from the style and fine tune it into the best metagame any online player has, one like Vietcongs. you dont lucksack your way into mtt win after mtt win in the biggest fields online. Then from there you dont lucksack your way into winning the hardest online tourney, not only once, but multiple times, and crushing the so-called good solid online mtters. Things just dont work like that. Dont be foolish. Learn from him instead

ok I'm 99% sure I know who you are now but c'mon man, like someone else said, he wins the big pots that are what make or break who wins and loses deep in mtts and that is why he has won so much in a short period. Some of us don't win 35% of big flips deep let alone 70%

Two people can make the exact same play in the exact same situation, and one of them can be a lifetime winner and the other a lifetime loser. The skill in poker tournaments isn't neccesarily the plays that people make, but the thought behind them.

You make one point which can be correct, in that there are occasional times in a tournament where it can be correct to take a -ev spot either with the intent to accumulate chips, or because you are using chips that you have accumulated. The way you wrote your post, you made it seem like you know for a fact that Vietcong makes these huge -ev plays because of some complex theory and not because he's a giant spew monkey. Why do you think that way?
