Shawn, I am trying to set up a private trouney for cardrunners.com members for about 30 people and I get the following response from UB customer service. I find this policy unacceptable and all the owness on me for getting this set up is on my dime. All the players registered are fully aware that the entry will be deducted from their accounts. Any help or guidance in getting this resolved would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Lou Pinella
Dear Customer,
As part of our policies we ask our customers to make a deposit
guarantee if he/she wants to set a private Tournament with us.
The amount depends on the buy in of the event.
In this case since you are requesting a $20+2 event the amount of the
deposit would be $550.
This amount would be debited from your account and returned to you 24
hours after the Tournament is over(Tournament Directors need to ask for
this).
If you agree with this we need you to give us the answer to your
security question which is : What is your favorite pet's name?
Please let us know if you need further assistance.
Regards,
Luis F -
You don't know your own dog's name? ;)
-
BTW: When did Lou Pinella get out of baseball and move to customer service with UB?
-
I think what they are saying is reasonable. You are asking UB to take money out of people's accounts. They are asking that you guarantee that money in the case of complaints.
This is the case where they are damned if they do and damned if they don't. Previously there have been complaints that they debit money without asking people. Looks like they figured out a reasonable answer to this problem. -
A more reasonable system would be a password-based solution...what happens if I tell you I can play, then tell you I cant...you get stuck having to pay MY $20?
-
Shawn, I got this resolved and appreciate your offer.
If you would like to join us for the tourney please let me know, www.cardrunners.com would love to have you. It's this Tuesday at 9pm EST. $20 plus juice.
Beanie, everyone realized upfront they would be getting their accounts debited. -
Can anybody sign up fot this tourney? I just became a member at cardrunners.com...Let me know, thanks.
