What game should you start off playing? Limit no-limit? Holdem or others? What sites should you read before strating? What site should you play at? Tournaments or cash? I ask because even though I have been playing online for some time now I havent been succesful and feel like I need to start fresh.

If you are just starting, you probably will be happy playing anything so I suggest learning a good limit poker game. I wish I would have done so when I first started because if you play good it is a great, low variance way make steady money.
I just can't stand to watch paint dry so I'm pretty sure i'll never pick it up.- -
Volume. Open up a couple of micro stakes cash games or tournaments and play to your heart's content. That's how I started, except the lowest games available at that time weren't as cheap as they are nowadays. The first concept is to play such low levels that it would take a negative expectation player quite a while to go broke. Once the money factor is out of the way, you can concentrate on getting better.

Whatever you decide to play. Play the lowest limits possible until you beat that level then move up. If you play tourneys everyone here seems to say to read Harrington on Hold em.. Someday I will. When I started out I played tourneys because it limited the amount I lost to the buy-in. Im not sure what else to tell you. I learned to play somewhat decent just by playing and watching and reading P5's. and playing withing BR.. (Except for the occasional 1/2 NL sessions)

You can definately learn how to play tournaments by playing freerolls and with some smarts and a little luck you can get your bankroll started playing freerolls too.

Just to add to what DH said...
Volume.
Then, analyze your HH's, ask questions, plug leaks. The more you play and the more you analyze your play, the more you learn. -
Thankyou all for the feedback and please keep it coming. I justed opened an account on absolute and am going to start playing two table NLHE at their lowest stake.
