  1. I run into situations like this all the time, and i'm not quite sure what to do on the river when I miss my draw. What does everyone do on the river here? Is this mostly based on your read of the opponent? Are my flop and turn bets correct? should I have raised pre? Thanks for all advice.

  2. I might bet a little less on the turn but I think you played it fine. c/f river imo.
  3. Deep in tourneys with a hand like this OOP Im shoving the turn, but here, its too many chips to put in at once...Since he's called you down the whole way, I'm done, its yours sir good hand

    Check fold it

  4. I think a raise pre is okay, but the way you played this hand was super solid. I like your check because your postflop skills are superior here.
  5. I agree that the check is fine. The biggest problem with raising this hand is, if you make it 200, you either win a small pot right here, or you get a caller (usually UTG), and then your OOP without a great hand in what can quickly become a large pot.

But, raising does give you some control, so its give/take

I like the flop leadout. The flat call is tough to play. This isn't very drawy for UTG. A 3 is unlikely, and 2 clubs is unlikely, since you know where 4 of them are.

The turn call is odder. A decent King usually raises the turn here.

The river is tough. I hate betting here because, the argument for not raising pre is to not build a huge pot. You hit enough to put another 350 in. The queen doesn't really change anything here. Was he drawing here?

I don't think he's folding much to a reasonable bet. If he has 88, he's calling a river bet here. He's calling a weak King/he's calling a Queen. Hands he might fold is an AJ type hand or if he was drawing and missed.

I think you have to check/fold, though if you check and he fires out a 800 chip bet here (about pot), I'd be sick as I'm mucking the hand, because then, he probably is drawing and you very well might be ahead.
  6. I ended up checking the river, he bet 600, i folded, and he showed ace 8 off. My check on the river obviously looked weak to him, but i figured he must have at least one pair. I probably could have taken it down by leading on the river, but oh well. Thanks for the advice everyone.
