    First off I love to gamble. Playing poker for me is an addiction and an obsession. But most importantly, fun for me.

    I am trying to figure out if I am good, a fish, lucky at times, or unlucky more times than not.

    I think that I have learned a ton over the past 6 years or so since I first played on party. I once placed 3rd in a $35,000 guaranteed MTT. I have twice ran my BR from a couple grand to over $12k within a couple of weeks playing cash games. But I have also busted out many times including the time that I ran my BR up over $12k. I have since practiced more restraint and better BR management. I have conditioned myself to playing lower limits, sometimes even .25/.50. What is frustrating is that many times I get busted in those games as well. It is very frustrating to be able to hang (to some degree) at $25/$50 but yet not consistently beat the low limit games.

    Since no one actually knows my game, I probably wont get a good answer. But it felt good to release some frustration.

    lol, no offense, but nobody that "can hang" at 25/50 gets beat at .25/.5 nor would they even play those limits. maybe you should try lower limit sng's instead of cash.

    moreover if you can hang at 25/50 why drop to .25/.50? Play the 25/50!!! And what he said because lower limit sngs are a goldmine. Long live poker!

    Well, I guess I can hang for only short periods of time. I used to have lot of expendible cash to play higher limits. Believe me, at first it was extremely difficult to play even $1/$2.

    I almost feel like 1/2 might be easier to beat than .25/.5 because you dont have guys calling you down to the river with shit. In my case they always seem to catch on the river.

    I respect your willingness to put yourself out there for scrutiny but you have several layers of flawed logic. First, you want people calling you down to the river with "shit." The object of the game is to have people make mistakes against you. Secondly, it is counter-intuitive to state that you can hang at $25/$50 but play $.50/$1.00. Third, using terms such as "gamble", "addiction", and "obsession" are certainly not conducive to the level of ferocious discipline necessary to sustain a steady level of income in poker.

    My completely uninformed opinion of you from reading two paragraphs and knowing nothing about you is that you're a typical guy who has achieved sporadic levels of success but aren't willing to put anytime in to study the game or practice the necessary discipline.

    My two cents...

    in my opionon ton more donks play lower limits shoving in with anything.....In plo lower limit, catch one spade on the flop are shoving all in with the nuts with spades.if they catch it they look like a genius if not a donk

    W2D,

    you make a pretty good asessment of me. My biggest problem IS BR Management. Also, I truly understand and want donks to call me down with shit. It just seems like more times than not they hit. I now have children so I cant afford to play 25/50 so thats why I dropped so low in limits.

    The one part you are wrong about is my dedication to the game. I've ready several poker books (Super System, the little Green Book), magazines, DVDS, and forums. So I want to learn.

    Children add a completely different dynamic to the poker equation. If you look at my scores over the last year, I can probably correlate 90% of my 4-figure cashes to business trips where I was in a hotel without the wife and 3 kids. The rigors of family life are not conducive to a profitable poker environment.

    Why in the world would I make this up? Most made up stories are about how great a person is and how much money they make. I said the opposite. Im telling you how horribly I managed my bankroll and that I lost over $12k in profits not once but twice. Why would I make that up???? You can also look up my stats and see that I took 3rd in FT $35k MTT. Again, not made up. I am simply looking for some advice. If you are not going to be +EV to these forums or this thread then get the hell out.

    dont play any stakes cash games that you cant consistenly dominate, find something between .25/.50 and 25/50 that you can beat, and if you can, then dont play cash games

    I think you're game is great......From the hours a day i spend watching you, I truly believe you are ready to "go pro".

    Deposit 100k......start playing the 100r nightly and all the 1ks.......

    Definitely understand where you're coming from.....it is SOOOOOOO much easier to beat $25/50 nl then it is to beat .25/.50 nl......

    you sir, just might make it.
