Did I misplay this hand?
I don't think I did.
Dude pts a third or his stack in preflop with dueces. He doesn't have implied odds for the the hand, etc. Seriiosly, is this a misplayed hand, or is this a fluke? -
I think I too woulda lost big on this hand....tough to fault your play of the hand....flop was ugly.....but this is exactly why Stu Ungar said A-A is a useless hand ....you either lose big or win small with A-A.....I now just shove ALL my chips in preflop with A-A and let the odds gods decide the winner....but the clown with 2-2 probably woulda called anyway and sucked out....
You just got very unlucky here.... -
I mean I guess that's my question. Am I supposed to just shove the AA on my 3rd bet vs the bet I made? Forget the flop. I have to think I'm still good on q j x board after the preflop action. I'm just not goot at NL and hands like this really discourage me. I mean he's putting 200 plus in on 22 with only 900 behind. I just don't understand his play at all.
-
I don't think you did anything particularly wrong....many good poker players would play the hand the same way.....the flop was incredibly ugly......very tough to lay down A-A after seeing that ugly flop.....the villain could have easily been playing A-Q.....
Personally, I am just so sick of losing with A-A that I just insta-shove ALL my chips in whenever I get A-A....I don't even care if everyone folds.....A-A is possessed by Satan..... -
Well the thing is you keep pricing him in with your just over a dub raise. The two times you raise pre flop, it's just over a dub. He probably sensed weakness until your second raise, but then he's getting 9:2 on this money to catch a set. It's not the best play in the world but it's not like the guy's a donkey or anything, he was at last weeks Millions FT.
After he just smooth calls your second raise I think his range has been cut down to probably AK, JJ, QQ or possibly 10 10, KK. I think AQ he mucks thinking that at worst you have AK or QQ+. I think he puts all his chips in with KK if he's that committed already.
So the flop could easily have flopped him a set, when he bets out he was obv. put you on a big hand and is trying to get your chips in. Once you put yourself all in, he's committed, there's no way a player of like him is going to fold $386 more to win $1675.
Now I'm not saying I get away from it any easier than you, but with the action pre flop, QQ,JJ are possible with the smooth call to your second raise. Either way you got really unlikey and he must be running like a god for that day. -
He's betting out to A: commit himself, and B: because he knows you're betting the flop but if you have to raise, it's for all your chips.
It's possible you bet the flop and he pushes and you fold, and he wastes some value on his set. He probably also did it because it's exactly what you wouldn't think he would do with a set and you would think you're good with you AA and push him. -
well i don't really play cash so take that for what its worth. but i think you both played the hand kinda bad.
the limp and the baby raises both suck because i feel like it makes your hand transparent when you suddenly come to life after he pops it up.

i think this is the point where asdf knows he's fucked and should probably fold. but he calls anyway, really the only 100% bad play he makes here imo.
him leading out after hitting the set made me think he knew you had aa since thats the sure fire way to get all the money in. but if he knew you had aa, then he would know you don't have enough money behind to make it profitable to call pre. so im not really sure. but like i said i don't think either of you played it that well, just my opinion. still <3 sickdickey though, and can we please unban pokerjamers already. i miss his presence -
