  1. What is happening with jamie gold at the moment, is actaully playing the tournament circuit now? has he shown any promise of developing into a good solid poker player like raymer and hachem after they won the main event? and what has happened with the law suit concerning the other 6 mill of his winnings?

    thanks for your replys
  2. He already is a good, solid player.

Don't be fooled by the ESPN footage you have seen on TV, you don't luck your way through 8,000 people.
  3. not sure but he will be on poker after dark next week

  4. He'll be on High Stakes Poker, not sure about Poker after Dark

I think his father recently died, so he took a short break from poker. He played a coupleof tourneys after the WSOP, but didn't cash.
  5. He's on Poker After Dark next week, along with a table of other WSOP main event champions.
    Seat 1: Chris Moneymaker
    Seat 2: Jamie Gold
    Seat 3: Johnny Chan
    Seat 4: Chris Ferguson
    Seat 5: Doyle Brunson
    Seat 6: Carlos Mortensen

  6. My money is on Chan at that table
  7. as much as you may hate him for whatever reason...acknowledge he played some sick big stack poker
  8. He was annoying, stupid, gave away everything he had to those who had a clue about reading players. Unfortunately the deck couldn't stop smashing him in the face and he got the advantage of cold decking some players. I don't give him any respect at all that no one stood up to him in the last 2 tables except for those who donated.

  9. You saw about 100 hands in which Jamie Gold played on TV... He played for 7 days x 15 hours a day x 30 hands maybe? Let's say he played about 3000 hands during the whole tournament... You saw 1/30th of them and you think you have him all figured out?

  10. Chan and Gold at the same table...should be worth watching.

Go win 12 million dollars then, you seem to have world champions soooooo figured out.

  13. "you don't luck your way through 8,000 people."

True. But there is no way you can convince me he didn't run like the fucking holy trinity the last 200.
  14. All I'm going to say is "top-top"

  15. "top top...what are you doing buddy? I told you toptop. top pair top kicker man"
  16. I can see them checking down Aces vs Kings then making out after.

Edit: Did Chan ever get his $$? If not, disregard the above statement.
  17. "I wouldn't have called if I knew you had that. I thought we were chopping!"
  18. Jamie's father passed away recently. I am sure he is handling the estate and all that entails.
  19. Or get Johnny Chan to be your cut man.

  20. I think alot of people are way wrong about him. Did he look like a tool at the final table? Yes. However he made alot of very good poker players make alot of bad decisions including the last hand where he got wasicka to put all his chips in the middle after the flop was down and he was behind. Ill admit he looked like an idiot eating a bowl of captain crunch and going what are you doing I had top top. But the dude made 3 final tables last year including winning the big one. Im sorry but you have to have some game to do that.

  22. Jamie is a cash game player. He plays high stakes at commerce.
  23. I would be willing to put my money on Mortenson on this table.

  24. "Top top" is how Jamie refers to Johnny in their 'special relationship.'
  25. i would like to say that i played with jamie Gold for most of day 4. when i hit his table we were both around 200K. the dude showed every hand that he could show unless there was action left. he was playing ABC poker and the whole table could read him like a book. he was up to 450k then back to 200 when a few key hands sent him on the mad rush that was seen on tv. First was with blinds about 1k-2k and he minraises UTG1, mid pos makes it 8k and cutoff makes it 20k, both call behind. flop like 249 rainbow. Gold bets 15k mid folds cutoff pushes and Golds 99>AA. now hes about 400K. Very next hand he limps from UTG, UTG1 makes it 8k with about 150k behind, button repops to 18k and both call. flop is like K62 and gold leads out 25k, UTG1 pushes and button comes over the top for about 350k. Golds 55>AA,AK. he doesnt do much for a while when with blinds 2k-4k or 3k-6k he makes a small raise from the cutoff (850K behind) when its folded to him that same raise all day had been AJ-AK, he would limp his pairs and raise huge with PP's from late position. so i reraise to 35k (200k behind) with plans to get it in on a blank flop. flop is 369 rainbow and i shove he insta calls and tables 3h-6h i cant improve the one time i get it in bad and my 88<36 and i put him over the million mark. out 231st. gg me. the rest is a history

  26. I don't see that being the lineup for poker after dark. Brunson was just on it this week and from it sounds like one table per person

  27. The line up is right from the official website - lots of players are on more than one table.
  28. Last Tuesday night Jamie was playing 25/50 NL at the Bellagio. He seemed to be doing fairly well, ordering nice bottles of Wine from the restaurant, although he was considerably more quiet than I would have expected and he appears to have lost some weight. His father passing is probably the reason.

I was playing at the table next to him ( 10/20 NL ) and I still have huge respect for his game and character.
