What the hell is a poker game called "pineapple" and "crazy pineapple"?

    The Ocala Jai-Aalai between Ocala and Gainesville, FL just opened its poker room.

    According to the radio commercials they're offering Hold 'Em, Limit Hold 'Em, Omaha, Razz, and something called Pineapple. Along with that, they also have something called Crazy Pineapple.

    Anybody ever heard of this?

    Pineapple is a hold em game, where each player is dealt 3 cards pre flop.

    After the flop each player must discard one of their cards, and continue on with the hand as a normal hold 'em hand.

    It can be played as a high-low game as well.

    Ultimate Bet used to offer Pineapple and Crazy Pineapple, not sure if they still do.

    I think that regular Pineapple you discard before the flop, and Crazy you discard after the flop.

    Nice, pineapple was one of our home game games 15 years ago. Always wondered if that was a bullshit made up game. Made up by the home game dealer that is.

    crazy pineapple hi/lo is one of the best card games ever invented. Pineapple is mo fun than holdem, and keep the card till after the flop....ie crazy.....and add the hi/lo...fun fun...action action...fun.

    Hey dude crazy pineapple is a really fun game. Have you made it out the Jai Alai? I went out there Friday, and it was packed. It is a nice room. Glad we got some live action here in ocala.

    Pineapple use to be offered on paradise poker as well. I enjoyed it.

    We play a version in our home games called Insane Pineapple. It's the same as Crazy Pineapple, but your discard is face up.

    Also another version called Criminally Insane Pineapple.
    You get 4 cards and must discard 1 card face up after the flop and the turn. Maybe we should add Hi/lo to this.

    Crazy Pineapple is the easiest game to make money if you are playing verse someone who doesn't understand it. Many times you can have weak hands that are a lock for either the high or low if you are in a heads up situations.

    We play a pot limit version of it that is INSANE. Great game.
