I would like to ask a serious question to help us learn and maybe better understand the game of poker... "if you can not answer seriously please do not answer".
Q: What is the most important lesson you have learned while playing poker (live or online).
A: It is hard to beat a calling station who has chips...

A: PATIENCE!! PATIENCE!! PATIENCE!! Let/force others to make mistakes. Don't make a mistake because you are impatient.

1. Always be prepared to play or don't play. Too often play when don't really feel like playing, and it is always a disaster.
2. Don't try to bluff a bad player, that makes you a bad player. Why? For what reason would you bluff someone who cannot be bluffed.
3. Keep studying, observing, practicing, and playing-you never are finished improving.
4. Although everyone does not seem to need this, I need to constantly be improving my physical condition, b/c it improves my mental condition and stamina. Something needed in the live tourneys. -
i wasn't comfortable with being aggressive and taking the lead in pots...i was the player that p5ers loved...the check caller(lol)... so i dropped to a lower limit and worked on the fundementals, position, aggression, taking the lead in pots, representing hands and continuation bets. once i improved my skills, i started making final tables, not just squeaking in to the $$$. the best lesson is to read all the posts here while in between playing.

It's more of a life lesson than a poker lesson for me.....and it's a lesson I'm still learning every day.
When things don't work out the way you want them to or think they should, it's important in poker and in life to evaluate your own role in what happened. But at the same time, it's also important not to be too hard on yourself or get too upset about things as it may cloud your judgement in future decisions.
I'd say that's the most important thing i've learned. -
It's not how you react to when things are going well... it's how you react when things are at there worst.
The most important lesson I am learning day by day. -
I've learned that there's no "r" in you.
