marcob7712 is a serial limper who has, I'm sure, no clue about things such as position, so I feel my hand at least warrants a call on the button preflop. I figure that on the flop, once again I'm good enough to call and re-evaluate the turn, but maybe a small raise might be in order. (but at this level I'm sure that a raise will only tell me whether he has an Ace or not) Then I pick up the nut-flush draw, and he makes the same sized bet. I think I have a tendency to overplay pair + flush draws that I don't pick up until the turn. His turn bet means he almost certainly has an Ace, which means my Ace is more than likely no good right now. What do you do here?
  2. let it go and pick better spot as way early and he might have set.... the guy is the big fish -31% ROI down 6.7K over 1297 sng's.

Anyone know his name on Full Tilt so I can look for him?
  3. I'd fold pre and fold the flop.

As played super easy snap call turn. You do have 9 outs to the nuts...5:1 pot odds....pretty simple.
  4. ok let me try this.

your limp pre is pretty horrendous. i fold here about 412% of the time. but if i'm going to play the hand, if the guy has been limping really a lot (it's only 15/30 how much could he really be limping already), then i like a raise from the button. isolate to play against him.

as played, i actually like a raise on the turn here to get heads up with that guy that lead into you. if you brick your draw on the river, just check back or call down and get to a showdown cheap. i've found that at this level, most of the time when they bet the flop, then bet the same small amount on the turn they have some sort of weak top pair, or second pair hand. i think you rarely run into 2 pair+ here

  5. fold pre
  6. Since you asked about as played I'll give this a shot.

This is an ugly spot. My gut reaction would be to reraise, only problem is a hand better than you is not going away and not really sure you get call by an A that you beat. I would need some kind of read on the player to make a solid play here. I doubt I could fault you either way....

    Enough fence sitting, I shove.
  7. Okay, here's the rest. I did shove.
    Freewill1978: raises 1265 to 1385 and is all-in

Seat 1: Freewill1978 (button) showed [Ad 7d] and won (3110) with two pair, Aces and Eights
Seat 2: guls11 (small blind) folded on the Turn
Seat 3: chiefs34 (big blind) folded before Flop
Seat 4: mashime folded before Flop (didn't bet)
Seat 5: marcob7712 showed [Ac 2h] and lost with two pair, Aces and Eights
Seat 6: cawilban folded before Flop (didn't bet)
Seat 7: BUCKNASTY00 folded before Flop (didn't bet)
Seat 8: MattB5784 folded before Flop (didn't bet)
Seat 9: colic folded before Flop (didn't bet)

I'm pretty sure this is way, way non-optimal....shoving where you know you're getting called if you're beat, and are at best 25% to win on the river (or 35% in this case)

  8. In a SNG you really need to conserve chips so I think this is a fold preflop like 98% of the time. As played I'm probably shoving his donk bet on the turn. If he had bet larger I would think a call or even a fold would be best.

  9. Playing ace-rag, even when suited and even early in tourney is a bad decision for this very reason. All it does is put you in bad spots you dont need to be in. You very, very rarely are going to win a big pot with it and more times than not you are going to lose money when you hit the ace or have a 7-high flop or something. I know you were asking about that specific hand. But you would be better served to fold it in the future preflop. Now, once the blinds are worth stealing and you have built up a good table image you can open in LP with them or something. But early, just muck and wait for the dealer to give you your next cards.
