I was curious why people always say that certain sites like Cake, Carbon, Bodog etc are softer and fishier than stars and FTP.
I ask cuz you would think Stars and FTP would have more fish considering they run constant commercials and are the 1st sites alot of new players would sign up with.
Where as the smaller sites are really more known to players that are already playing online poker.. -
The sites with a sportsbook attached are typically softer.

The sites with online casinos (Cake, Carbon, Bodog) and sports betting (Bodog) seem to be fishier. People are more in it to gamble than grind it out and work at it imo.

I see, makes sense..
Does Cake have a casino? -
The smaller sites apply more to a niche market in general. Because FTP and stars are the largest and best they offer more things for the grinder including wider selection of tournaments including higher stakes and larger fields, sit and go's run more often, there's a wider variety and greater selection of cash tables offered, etc. This in turn attracts all the regs. You will rarely find a reg who plays online and doesn't have the majority of their play at either stars or ftp (or both) with other smaller sites that compliment their overall grind. Result: Small sites are fishier and have less regs. GL
