you and your math...jesus christ lol
-
Brag post about actually getting AA. and then actually re-sucking out with AA.
-
its literally elementary school/middle school math
-
I saw this live once in an 18 player 2 table home game tourney with rebuys - first hand of tourney ( no, I was not dealer ) . Gal slow plays trip 6's on a raggy flop. I turn trip 10's and 2nd villian catches trip 7's on the river as he was on a straight draw. All the money finally gets in on the river. ... rebuy, rebuy.
-
not that strange if it were a REBUY
-
I had this happen live once in a cash game.
Flop 972
I had 99....some else had 77...and obv..someone had 22
3 sets all on the flop..
Calculate those odds.
Sandman_Good -
It's about 1:100 for two people with pocket pairs to both hit sets.
-
in AC i was playing a tourney. flop was 9,5,2. 3 guys end yp getting all thier money in, thier hands 99, 55, 22. 3 sets before even the turn card.

lol @ 1.221 to get dealt a PP
-
chances of getting a card of any rank, with 52 cards to be dealt.
1 : 13
chances of getting a card of that same rank, with 51 cards to be dealt.
1 : 17
1 / 13 * 1 / 17 = 1 / 221
it's not going to play out that way, obv. but that's the theoretical expectation.... I think. -

this forum is way, way too good -
Odds of getting a specific pocket pair, say AA, is 1 in 221. Odds of getting any pocket pair is approx 1 in 17.
-
so what are the REAL odds of set/set/set?
-
lool... WTF... so as the cards are being dealt Im thinking in my head, I need a 7 in my hand the first time, and then if I get that 7 and pray to get another 7, my chances are 1:17.. im leveled at the fact that has nething to do with set over set over set..
-
Assuming 3 people are holding pocket pairs and see the flop.
Chance of flopping 3 sets:
(6/46)x(4/45)x(2/44)= 1/1897.5
Chance of having 3 sets by the river:
(1/1897.5)x(5!/(3!2!))= 1/189.75
I'm not 100% sure the second one is right. It is at least close.
