1. Alright, so here it is.

The account 'ABlackCar' was not made for multi-accounting. It was intentionally made for my grandma for her birthday present. However, it was never given to her. So, I had an extra account. Yes, I multi-tabled. Yes, it is incredibly easy. Yes, many people do it was . You really have no idea about the situation.

About 2 months ago, I thought it was just a really bad idea like everyone else. A lot of my friends did it, and i always gave them a hard time for it. But, I had a conversation with a player where we decided it would be a lot of +EV to not be known when you are playing MTTs. So, basically, I had a spare account with tons of +EV in it. So many poeple did it with no reprocautions. I know someone who had over 10 accounts in a recent million guaranteed. Party has no idea.

So, back to the day of the win. When there was about 30 left, I started telling all these people I was in. I was too much caught up in the moment, and it was a really stupid thing to do in hindsight. It slipped out, and everyone knew. The account was in the name of my grandma, and it was intended for her to play in, so that was the easiest excuse for me. I apologize for lieing to everyone. I really do. When such a large amount of money is on the line, it's really tough to be loyal to morals.

The next morning, both accounts were close. Today, they took away all the money. The roughly 40k in JJProdigy, and the 140k in ABlackCar. The following is what I was e-mailed by Party:

Josh,

The PartyPoker.com investigations team opened an investigation on accounts JJProdigy and ABlackCar relating to suspicious activities during the February 12th $500K Guaranteed Tournament. The investigation was initially triggered by the investigations team as a result of a ýcommon informationý alert, IP and computer. Although the investigation was initiated internally, customer service began receiving complaints/concerns regarding this situation starting on February 13th.
With this investigation, the complaints and alerts pointed to multiple accounts being played from the same location in the same tournament.

The accounts involved in the investigation:
Account JJProdgy was created on November 4th, 2004.
Account ABlackCar was created on December 31st, 2005.

Note: The account ABlackCar was not created until December 31st, 2005, therefore all previous data was not used in the investigation unless found to be relevant.

When investigating the location of where an account is played from, there are two identifying factors that are taken into account.
A specific computer is traced by a unique computer identification number.
An Internet Protocol (IP) address is the address that an internet service provider uses to identify and trace the location of a computer.

From December 31st, 2005 until February 11th, both accounts only used the IP address xxxxxxx, which traces to xxxxxx, CA. Both accounts only used a computer with the same identifier. These are referred to as the xxxxxx IP and computer.

Account ABlackCar was created from the Home IP and computer on December 31st, 2005. On dates of January 1st, 3rd, 5th, 15th and February 6th, 7th and 9th ABlackCar logged into the Home IP and computer and registered and played in a total of nine tournaments. All of these tournaments had a buy-in of $100 or more.

Account JJProdigy was logged into from the Home IP and computer on the same dates and registered and played in the same tournaments.
Both of these accounts were played from the same computer and the same IP address in the same tournaments.

The tournament in question took placed on February 12th. At 13:54 ET account JJProdigy logged into a different computer, but from the Home IP, and registered for the $500k Guaranteed Tournament. That account then logged out and back in on the Home computer at 15:18. $215 was transferred to account ABlackCar at 15:27. At 15:32 account ABlackCar logged onto the Home IP and computer and registered for the same $500k Tournament.

Both accounts started playing the $500k Tournament from the Home IP and computer.

Summary:

This indisputable evidence led to the conclusion that both accounts had played several tournaments together from the same computer located in the same location.

Account ABlackCar, although registered in a different name, is believed to have been created with the sole intention of playing multiple accounts in the same tournaments. Both accounts were consistently logged into at the same time and show a consistent pattern of being played by the same person.

Conclusion:

A decision has been made, in consultation with the Poker Room Manager, Legal and Management, to close both accounts and confiscate all funds. Funds gathered by this deception will be refunded to the players that were affected.

Regards,

Francis Hamilton,

Legal Affairs

What I did was wrong. I shouldn't have been doing it in the first place. It made me lie and cheat to people and a community I know and trust. I feel terrible about it, but there isn't much I can do about it now.

Adam and Cal have handled this very well, and I thank them a ton.

***m not sure where I move on from here. I am contimplating legal action, but I won't go too much further into that.

(I am saying this more about the 40k than the 140k. They deserve to take away the 140k from me, and I compliment them that they were able to make such a bold move. However, I doubt anything will come with it. I typed this swiftly, and was somewhat still hoping I would be able to get some of teh money back, which i do not deserve.)

Thanks for all the supports through this whole ordeal. I really do appeciate it.

2. Your a good player you will bounce back from this. Don't let it get you down.
3. Honestly I am digusted by this. How you discussed with another player it was very +EV and decided to do it based on that is pathetic. I dont care how many people do it, it is downright wrong and you know this. Also sad to hear lots of other players doing this. I guess for some people money is more important then having dignity and playing by the rules. Your immaturity shows.
4. You're considering legal action?????

YOU CHEATED

YOU GOT CAUGHT

PARTY TOOK PROPER ACTION

GG day in court

A.J.
5. Go get your money back, you still earned it!

DEMAND your money back, as well as $300,000,000 for suffering and pain. Well, ok, the $300,000,000 is not neccessary, but at least get your other funds back or sue for time wasted or SOMETHING!
6. I will never play there againn because of there dishonest move not because of JJ. Party should have a 1 account policy like paradise. GG Party Poker.
7. I don't understand why they took the money out of the JJprodigy account. That has nothing to do with that tournament.
8. that's rough. I hope that you bounce back from this. Whether or not people support or don't support you playing on multiple accounts, I don't think that many people would think that your accounts should be confiscated.
9. JJ sorry it went down this way. Good luck in whatever you decide to do.

Uhbigtex-- maybe you should read everything in blue in JJ's post.
10. Yea, Party Poker=Terrible site, dishonest, terrible blind structure.
11. This is a very tough situation JJ is in and I certainly wouldnt want to be going through what he is experiencing right now but the bottom line is that he did something that he knew was against the rules and is now feeling the repercussions of it. End of Story. The only thing he can do probably at this point is to learn from his mistakes and move forward with his poker career. Obviously he is an outstanding poker player so he shouldnt have any problem making money.......

I wish you the best in getting through this JJ.

12. Nobody's perfect, and we all make mistakes as human beings...obv. Temptation, and the lines between what's right and wrong can definitely become blurred at times. Thank you for your thorough, and honest response. You're an excellent poker player, and I wish you nothing but success in the future. Again, we all make mistakes...and I hope this can be considered a lesson for us all. Don't get too down over this...life definitely goes on man.

13. I don't know anyone here on this site from a hole in the wall...and trust me..I don't kiss anyone's ass here....but give the kid some credit.....he could've hid from the forum and posted under a different name, but he didn't. He gave his side of the story, and yes it sucks, but at least give him credit for publicly admitting his guilt!!!

PM me if you want to flame!!
14. Well lets hope this sends out a message to all your "friends" who multi account..

Yes 140k is alot of money to lose JJ but after you where busted out the first time that 140k wasnt yours to lose a 2nd time, think of all the other guys who payed the entry fee you must see it from their point of view it is only fair that the money goes back into the original prize pool.

It is obvious that you are a very talented poker player im sure over the years you will win back this money legit...

nikpmub
15. You made a huge mistake and i hope you learn from it. I'm sure that $140k lost will definately haunt you in the future if you ever think of doing it again. Anyways, best of luck in the future.

RAIL LENNY
16. I can not believe that the money was transferred directly from JJProdigy account.
I find that almost as hard to believe as the fact that both accounts played the same tourney of >$100 on the exact same computer 9 different times.

Did you want to get caught?
How can you make soo many damn amazing decisions at the poker tables, under pressure, then make a mistake as amateur as this?
17. Thank you for this post JJ. We have never met but I respect all the ranked players. I had mixed feelings about all the posts about this issue. I also have heard of others doing the same thing and think it is unfair to us newbies trying to learn. We all make mistakes and learn from them and move on. I hope to see you at the tables on UB....GL at the tables!

Ps....I think it sucks that they confiscated all of the money you had on PP!
18. This would have been an awesome post if after the part you admitted that you know what you did was wrong and you were sorry you did it and lied to the community, etc, you stated that you would accept the consequences of your behavior. Instead you say your thinking of taking legal action!?!
19. I HATE SNITCHES!!!!!!!!!!

P.S.
What do you think gbmantis feels like right now? He cost his friend ONE HUNDRED FOURTY FUCKING THOUSAND DOLLARS!!! He must feel like a piece of shit. I always thought good friends bought you a beer at the bar or played wingman and helped you get pussy, not cost you 140K, at least that's what my friends do.

GG gbmantis as a friend!
20. JJProdigy, thanks for the honesty.

You got the skills that I can only dream of. (One day I hope to get there...)

Lesson learned, you paid the price.

Bounce back, play your game elsewhere, and keep on keepin on.

Good luck,
Steve
21. Agreed Oakes. He had no reason to provide this pit of vipers any explaniation but he did. Pretty stand up of him - and he never denied it in the first place. What that tells me is that a LOT of people do it, and I hope this helps the sites get a handle on this whole multi account situation.

Thanks JJ.

Randy
22. I'm think the legal action is for the other 40 THOUSAND DOLLARS they took from his JJ account.
23. lol he can't really take legal action, when he signed up, he agreed to the terms and conditions to the site, which clearly state what will happen if what happened happens.
but, gl JJ
24. To edit on the legal action:

(I am saying this more about the 40k than the 140k. They deserve to take away the 140k from me, and I compliment them that they were able to make such a bold move. 25. "I HATE SNITCHES!!!!!!!!!!

P.S.
Get lawyer for this and work it out through the legal systems. Dead serious contact all poker magazines and all poker sites and tell them the stories and do interviews. Tell them how you are a ranked player and extremely popular too. Create alot of negative press for Party and take them to court. Right now with all the ban on internet going on, the last thing they will want is negative press. Jump on this now and you will get your $ back. Don't let them do this to you."

That is one of the most ridiculous things I have ever heard. If anything him telling his story would be positive PR for Party.

26. I nominate this (^^^) for Idiot Post of the Year

edit- i'm referring to pokah's post obvs
27. Thanks for posting that JJ, it answers a lot of questions for many of us, and I appreciate your standing up and admitting you did it and telling us about it. The real problem is taht so many people are doing it and Party isn't catching them. That is disturbing. Basically they only caught you because it became public knowledge or you could have had tons of accounts like the people you talk about.

The confiscation may cut down some people's interest in multi-account play, but many others will continue to do it and Party doesn't seem to be doing much to catch it.

I may not play any more higher buy-in tourneys on PArty until they find a way to catch people. If their software doesn't detect that someone is playing on the smae computer with two accounts what does it do? No security at all? That should have been a very easy thing to detect and they basically stumbled upon it or they may never have caught you.

How many people are doing this? Party's tourneys are seriously -EV if lots of people are playing on many accounts.

JJ I think the members of the community who were hard on you would be more forgiving if you helped us try to solve this problem. Write something up about how many people you estimate are doing this sort of thing on Party, and whether you know if it is harder to do at other sites. Let us know where the software catches things like this if you know, and what sites are the easiest to do it on so we can avoid them.

I know you don't owe us a thing, but it would be a nice gesture for sure. You're too solid a player to fall apart after this, just get back up, lesson learned, and play some cards.
28. I give you credit for posting this. I disagree terribly with what you did and feel the consequences are justified. Obviously, because other people are doing it doesnt make it right.

I hope you have learned from this and I don't wish you any ill will personally. I also hope that the poker sites will step up their vigilance to make it tougher for others to cheat.
29. Actually he cost him 180k not 140k.
30. How would you feel if you were at the WSOP and Ivey entered 5 times, doyle 5 times, etc etc..and each time they lost they just went and played at the new spot?....its a 10,000$ event but to them its like a cpl hundred...to a qualifier its a chance in a lifetime,...same as the 500k to JJ big deal 200 bux ppfffftt sign em up 10 times,...but to a qualifier,,a player that is low end that maybe looks up to JJ for his skills....its a slap in the fucking face.

Sure Party was harsh as a motherfucker here...take 1/2 bump him down to 10th place....but take it all?

I honestly could care less here,..didnt play in it and hate party...but to those defending him ...its bullshit,...deep down they know its wrong or they do it themselves and are trying to justify it.

For a Player of JJ's calibre its a smack in the face of those that like how he plays and respect him
makes you wonder if him winning the TLB in august was actually ALL him.

Also its funny to me that none of the top ranked players are commenting(besides gank)

are they all doing it?

F online play

I am going to do this shit myself,...why miss the bandwagon if everyone else is on it

I feel foolish for entering multis with only 1 account,...esp on dise ,...shit I can play the atlantic (draws 60 plyrs) with 2-3 accounts i will prolly easily make a same table with 1 of my aliases and dump chips,...easy,...and prolly being done...this is completely a disgrace....how can anyone feel safe playing anymore.....who the fuck knows whats going on
