1. "Give it a rest. Guy just lost 40k THAT HE EARNED HIMSELF and you still have to flame. He came out with the truth and he apologized. In the real world that means something."

How do you know he didn't win that money in the nine other tournaments that he cheated in?

2. I think this sums up the problem with the poker boom. There are so many kids now earning such a Fortune that their world is dominated by money, and morals and doing the right thing are forgotten in the race for cash. Without naming any names there are a few young phenom's on here who come across as arrogant jerks, and JJ has truely confirmed himself to be an absolute punk in the way he's acted throughout this episode.

Anyone who says well done for owning up JJ, must be nuts because he had the chance to act like a man when he was unveiled as a cheat but instead of considering his actions and owning up to being a cheater he was simply concocting a story to lie to this community and trying to worm his way out of things. And for those you who said he didnt have to come on here and explain, you are right, and I wish this lying no good POS would stay away for ever; he does nothing for the online poker community except confirm the suspicions of outsiders that the game is rigged. The sad thing is, its not the poker rooms that rig the sites, its young greedy punks like JJ.
3. Puerto, cheating IS, to use your term, binary. You either cheat or you don't. A little bit of cheating is not okay in an arena where everything is supposed to be equitable and above board. I'll help you out with a couple of examples: age, weight, height ---> NOT binary; pregnancy, cheating, death ----> BINARY. Why don't people get this! Maybe more people should play golf. It, like poker, doesn't build character, it reveals it.
4. after further review and a couple of pm's back and forth to JJ ... the kid is a punk ... an arrogant prick to put it precisely ... i tried to give the guy some comforting words and he basically looks down at it as if i'm a gnat to him ... i quote "i never asked you to take up for me" LMAO

kid -- my gut tells me you have a few more hard lessons to learn ... perhaps some that could result in a lot worse result than losing 180K ... arrogant prick!!
5. Ego and pride or 140K. I say fuck the pride when this kind of money on the line. Why do you need all this publicity. All that people , who you want to get respect from now kicking you while you down . JJ learn from that, fuck them all, think about youreself, not about bunch of lousy losers and snithes. I personaly don't do that for my own reasons(sure not because I'm think it's not right, just because I will start play to lose, if I know that I got more then one chance)but a lot of people do that and get away with that, because they play to make money , not to get ranked. All I'm say is that , forget about publicity, ranking and shit like that, as you can see is no friends around, all those motherfuckers just waiting for you to fail, to do something , that they can point a fucking finger at you.Because they can win this kind of money only in they dreams.
Conclusion: FUCK them all and think just about yourself and your future.
BTW I'm done with this site full of jelaous motherfuckers and fucking snithes, hope you all burn in hell.
6. Haven't read every single post yet in this thread, but I'm fairly disgusted by people somehow saying that JJ really "acted like a man" by telling the "truth" about this. Are you all forgetting the grandma story??? He's only telling the truth now because they TOOK AWAY HIS MONEY, so it doesn't matter anymore and there's nothing to gain from lying now, so he's trying to save whatever is left of his reputation. I also highly doubt what he's telling NOW is the truth -- he's now claiming that, after talking to his friends for so long about the idea of using multiple accounts, he gets the idea to start a new account for his grandma as a present for her, but for some unexplained reason "it was never given to her." Huh? So, since he decided not to give his grandma this present of her own poker account, he realized that he had this extra account laying around, so hey, why not cheat with it?

This post by JJ definitely makes me like him less, not more. He's clearly lying more and whining about party taking back the money he cheated to win. And of course it's right for Party to take the 40K in the JJ account, because HE BROKE THE RULES and the specific tournaments where he's been proven to make money off of that shouldn't matter. He's a proven cheater and they can confiscate the money from all his accounts for that. I highly doubt they got them all, though. That person who played "10 accounts in a recent million guaranteed" is probably him.
7. "It's all one big game." Sklansky. Life too, I suggest new friends PokahProdigy otherwise you'll end up like JJ, or worse. Tough call gbmantis, correct call!
8. I'm not sure, but isn't wire fraud regarding interstate commerce a felony? Leave it alone, take your lumps and move on, you might be getting off easy!
9. Pupkin,

If you look at the email from party poker sent to JJ you will see that the multi-tabling with the Grandma account started 1 day after the Grandma account was opened. If that does not prove his story is still BS, nothing will.

10. This has been talked about to death. Not that it isnt an important issue, it is just that there is little to add except everyone opinions

Here is something I have always wondered. I know quite a few people with multiple accounts. Not that they are using them to play two accounts at once but they like to change names from time to time and play tourneys. I wonder how they EVER do not get caught. Are these people just making up new accounts with family member names and new neteller accounts?I have had trouble cashing out a couple of times because me and my wife both have accounts. We have had trouble even though we have two totally different neteller accounts and two completely different bank accounts they are issued from.

To me it seems like they will all eventually be caught if they ever win a big tourney and try to cash out. I have heard so many storys about transfering and then attempting to transfer back and the player is forced to send in drivers liscense copys. It all seems like so much trouble and so many chances that a site would take your money and or close your account. I know ActionJeff had a lot of trouble cashing out after winning a tourney on someone else account.I know Jordan Berkowitz had trouble cashing out after winning some big events. To me people playing multiple accounts even when not playing two in the same tourney are not thinking very far ahead. Maybe I dont know all the ins and outs of these sites, but I for one would not make two accounts even to play one per tourney for fear they would ban me from a site and or take any moneys in the account.

Didnt JJ know he would be looked at closely if he didnt have a seperate Neteller account connected to the ablackcar account? If he was transfering back and forth between them to cash out he should have known that after winning a huge tourney that it would be examined..

Just wondering. Perhaps someone could shed some light on this without totally giving away that they are indeed using multiple accounts.
11. What Really Happened...
For all the railbirds out there in love with JJProdigy, Please scroll to the next reply.
What really happened is JJ cheated. Thats the bottom line. Just because I dont want people cheating me out of money, doesnt mean I am a hater. I just hate Donks corrupting online poker. You know what I am calling you out. My grandma enjoys playing poker as well, but shes never won the pp tourney. I guess she doesnt "own" like your grandma does. What a freaking joke. I hope they take every penny out of every account you have and send it to the players you stole it from. That was the most ridiculous excuse I have ever read. "When such a large amount of money is on the line, it's really tough to be loyal to morals." - Greatest Quote of all time award goes to---JJ Prodigy. Do you feel bad using your grandma in this fashion. So anyway, whats wrong with multi accounting? UHH chip dumping, blind stealing, info on outs... People should be outraged by this bs instead of praising him. By praising this donk you are condoning everything bad about online poker. Shit, you are promoting it. Excuse me while I go throw up. So, if you really want the online poker community to turn into a bunch of JJ's, then keep telling JJ how great he is. So if its ok to do this, then I cant wait to register 30 accounts so I can become a "great player" like JJDonKORamA. I hope the party poker Legal Team takes everything. JJ you dont pwn, you pcheat. And thats the truth. Tell gmoney (grandma) I said hi. So JJ, GG NH and ByeBye!!!!!!
12. What a difficult situation you put yourself in. Sometimes, lessons are learned the hard way, and missing out on 140k is pretty rough. But I also admire the fact you took the time to do this. Its pretty hard to admit a mistake of this magnitude, but it was necessary...and not only for the sake of your credibility. I agree with Fox's post in the fact that if I played on party, I most definatley would NOT play any more high limit multis there until security questions are resolved. Things may have gotten out of control if this did not happen.
13. From a new poker player who was almost ready to jump into real-money online play:

This is all very disturbing. I was already concerned about the potential of cheating online via collusion, etc, and now this.

I don't know enough about computing to offer a solution, but I will anyway (and I am copying this to party):

No more accounts from the same IP address, period, regardless of how many computers. Or at least they can NEVER log on at the same time.

I know cheaters will find a way around this, but it's a start.

Until I have this assurance from Party and others, I will not be investing any money at their sites.
14. No more accounts from the same IP address, period, regardless of how many computers. Or at least they can NEVER log on at the same time.

Well, that's not really fair to those who live in dorm rooms, apartments, or houses with multiple computers and people who like to play poker.
15. I have read about 90% of the messages posted on this topic (I think I have anyway). I have read a lot of them anyway. I have come to the following conclusions, however they are not indisputable I suppose:

1. JJ cheated, and I do not think that anyone is disputing that anymore.
2. JJ was a great poker player, and still is. Probably one of the best in the world at online poker, and I don't think that anyone is disputing that.
3. JJ got caught cheating and then lied on this forum about it in an attempt to make it seem not as bad.
4. The tournament history of the two accounts make it seem pretty obvious that he had cheated several times before getting caught.
5. I believe had he not been caught this time that he would have continued cheating, probably doing so today in at least one of the big Sunday tournies.
6. He did come back on here and confess to cheating and lying about it, but only after other pretty incriminating evidence had surfaced (tourney histories of the two accounts). Does this constitute "manning up" about it? I don't think so. "Manning up" would have been being honest about it from the beginning, and offering somewhere between half and all of the money back to the players that finished behind him, or maybe offering it up as a freeroll prize for ebody that had been in the tourney (don't even know if that would have been feasible, but he could have offered). Its too late to "man up" after such obvious evidence has come out.
7. JJ's punishment absolutely fits the crime. It clearly states what the rules about playing two accounts are, and what will happen to any individual that breaks those rules. JJ knew this. To take back anything less than the full $140k would still be rewarding him for cheating. It would also encourage others to continue cheating, as it would be worth the risk of getting caught if they were only going to take half of 140K away. The other account, which had 40k in it is justifiably taken away as it is obvious that JJ cheated before, making this money tainted.
8. Should "JJ haters" follow him around and trash talk him at the tables? ABSOLUTELY NOT!!! No good can come from it, and personally I think time can be better spent concentrating on playing your own game or else spending time reading and contributing to this forum.
9. Should JJ be respected as a poker player. He has lost my respect along with many others'. No amount of great poker play can earn that back in and of itself. If he wants to earn the poker community's respect back, I believe he will need to make some sort of grand gesture to do it. Whether that is offering free lessons, helping sites stop cheaters, etc. i will leave that up to him to decide. Maybe he doesn't even care if we respect him, I don't know. I hope that he does care, and I hope that he does try to earn that respect back...that would be "manning up".
Good luck to you, JJ if you do care.

Yes, it probably isn't fair. Neither is it fair that we have cheaters who may ruin the whole industry. What is the solution?!

I emailed party the following (slightly different from my last post). I'll post if they respond:

"subject: cheaters, jjprodigy

To Whom it May Concern,

I posted this on pocketfives.com regarding the jjprodigy thread:

"From a new poker player who was almost ready to jump into real-money online play:

Unfortunately, I have since learned that there is an easy way around this as well, which is to get another computer and sign up for, say, a NetZero account in order to get a new IP address.

Do you have any solution in store for these problems?

Thanks,

17. HAHAHAHA.

What a joke you people are, jesus. Isn't this the same community that hung TheBeat by his ball sack for creating a second POCKET FIVES account to fluff himself a little? How can anyone possibly feel sorry JJ or think his lame ass attempt at saving face is a serious apology? This clown deserves to lose every penny of that money. I didn't see if you're permanently banned from the website, but I sure hope so. You definitely should be. You should also immediately lose your P5's ranking.

You knew what you were doing. You knew the consequences. You did it anyway. Period.
If you're pulling that shit, I don't for one second believe that you didn't cheat in some way shape or form to build your bankroll and achieve some of the things you've achieved. Even if not, you still adversely affected EVERYONE ELSES CHANCES TO EARN RANKING CONSIDERATIONS BY INTENTIONALLY CHEATING. This isn't innocent until proven guilty. YOU ARE GUILTY. If this guy isn't dropped from the rankings it's a slap in the face to every other ranked player, and I don't know why anyone would even take the rankings seriously anymore.

What you did is bigger than just that tournament and that situation. Arrogant selfish mother fuckers like you are what jeopordizes THE GROWTH AND CONTINUED SUCCESS of the hobby/community we love, and what many use as THEIR CAREER. People in this thread explicity have expressed their concerns about online poker and their hesitation to partake, and they see this? The community, tournaments, and prize pools are not going to continue to grow to our benefit when there is no trust in the integrity of the game.

All you people forgiving of this I guess are just too blind to realize that you are the ones who got screwed over here. All the people eliminated from all those tournaments HE NEVER SHOULD HAVE BEEN IN!

What a joke. You intentionally tried to punk all of us.
You got away with it for a little bit. But you were greedy, and pushed it too hard, and got caught.
Good. Karma's a bitch. I wish I could have seen the look on your face when you tried to log into your accounts.
