Do you play poker for fun, to subsidize your income, or for a living?
What stakes do you play? If you play on the net, how many tables at once? How many hours do you play a week?
Just curious - I am considering switching from B&M to the net and trying to figure out if the change over is worth the time. -
Since i am recently un-employed... poker is my only income since December...which hasn't been that bad. I play 26 dollar MTT tourneys on FT and about to move up to 55... I have no Idea how many hours i play a week but its about 7 tournaments a day... Pretty low volume due to only playing on Full Tilt (have a mac and don't like playing in web browsers).

Stakes: Anything from 20-300$ fo's, and 10-50r's, breaking that rule during UBOC-FTOPS, etc.
Hours: Way too many. 15 tourneys on a soft day, more than 30 on Sundays. 1-2 days off a week is mandatory. -
100 and 200NL full ring (24tbles)
3/6-10/20 limit 16tbles
Will be 40-50hrs a week now -
haha welp im currently unemployed and not going to school....HEY! ima pro poker player...ha not..meh kinda more of a bum. I play mtts $10-$75 higher if i satelite in and 3-20 rebuys. I usually play 6-8 tables at a time. I usually play like 30ish hours a week sometimes up to 50 or as few as 10 to none. Depends on what i feel like doing. I never play fridays or saturdays cuz im busy being a drunk holligan!

You shouldn't make a "switch" from B&M to online you should incorporate online into your current schedule. Playing both keeps you sharp. When you play online you realize the volume of hands you can see is phenomenal and can't compete with live. When playing live you realize the wealth of information players give off that you cant detect online and realize how awesome that is.

I play for fun mostly and get some money out of it, which goes to helping my normal living and purchases and then...playing some more. I play mostly PLO25/HA25 and sometimes $5-11 tournaments, used to play a lot more tournaments but don't have time anymore so I've played a lot more cash. I normally play 1-2 tables, rarely more. I think I play like 10 hours a week.
Now that I think about it, my poker playing is a LOT different now than it ever was. I play almost purely cash instead of tournaments now and have begun playing a lot live, which is a lot of fun + challenging at the same time. -
I've got a good job, so I play for fun, but I play as much as possible.
Prefer live to online, but this year I'm going to try to turn more consistent results online and take more stabs at the $24+2 guarantees on Full Tilt.
Any given week I try to play:
2 nights live $1/2 cash (roughly 6 hrs each night)
3 nights online
* primarily MTTs ($21K, $28K, $32K Guarantees; or $26 45-person. Just played
my first Fifty-Fifty and came in 66th)
* $0.50/$1 6-max or $1/2 full ring
I never run more than two tables at a time. After working all day in front of a computer, my eyes beat the shit out of my brain if I try. -
Generally play $50-100 MTTs and the odd Sunday Major. Play on average 12 MTTs a week over 2/3 nights (about 15hrs a week) as I have a fulltime job. Play for enjoyment and challenge more than anything else but made nearly as much from poker as I did from my job last year....with the current economic climate in London right now I may well be playing full time in the not too distant future through necessity.

I've been playing for about 4 to 5 years now. I try to play as much as I can but I don't multi-table, I like to try and understand my opponents and the hands that I am in, by multi tabling I know I may miss out on more profit but I like to try and think about the hands I play.
I play on average 6 games a day, which by the sounds of it is not much, but I'm part-time, and the economic climate is pushing me to play more even though I have a part-time job at the moment too.
I prefer 6 man games to 10 man and I play mainly STT's, though cash I usually play if I'm stuck for time or if I feel a little more risky. I used to love MTT's and have had some decent cashes in the past but I need to get my patience back to play them, maybe multi-tabling MTT's might sort that out. -
I play rarely online and suck at it. I stick to micros, and the funny thing about is that I originally deposited $25 "ran it up" to about $200 when I didn't know anything about pot odds or +/- EV etc etc then started to learn more about the game and blew all that plus a little more.

I work about 30 to 40 hrs a week.
I play poker about 20 to 30 hours a week.
I mainly 5 - 6 table $5 sng's and switch to 2-3 $10 sng's. I've only been doing this for two months.
Before that I played nothing but $.50 - $1 NL cash and 4 tabled. I've been playin online off and on since 2001. -
I work a fulltime job and play poker for fun/subsidize income.
20-40 hrs per week
3-6 table MTTs, 10 - 55 BI with the occasional 75s and 109s.
Some satties and some 45 man sngs
