  1. <SPAN class=postbody>I need to know what wirless service is the best for my laptop which can enable me to watch pxf videos and play online poker. what service provide you use when you are on the or in your hotel room. I was looking at sprint, verizon and cingular. Thanks.

  2. Most of the hotels I stay in provide the wireless service as part of their package....unless of course....you are in Vegas
  3. I have only heard that Verizon is better than Cingular for speeds and coverage.

Go in and try one out. Too big an investment to not get to try it out before hand.

I've not done this, but I would no problem. Take your laptop into the shop and get them to set it up so you can test it, or insist they provide a laptop w/ one in it. Test it on PXF. If it's your laptop, test it on the sites. Open up a few tables that are running to see how it handles multiple tables. Open 2 sites, 3. Test the mofo out.

Second. Make sure you can return it/get out of the contract if you are not satisfied with it's performance. If they won't do that for you, well, I'd lose a lot of faith. For some reason I think Verizon will do this, but maybe that was an old promotion.

Others have said verizon does them right when playin MTTs, but i'm not sure about multitabling.

Let me know if you do this and what you think of the services.

  4. Yes please share if you try it. I been thinking about getting the wireless service from verizon. Its $60 a month which is making me think first before doing it especially with 2 yr contract.
If you do try it please share your experience.
    Thx
  5. SPRINT AIR CARD, DOES THE JOB FOR ME... I HAVE PLAYED UP TO 4 TABLES WITH NO PROBS. ONLY $50 A MONTH.
  6. I just purchased Verizon Wireless internet. It was $60/month with a 2 year contract. They let me try it for a month. It's very stable and hasn't died a single time for me. It's plenty fast enough to play as many poker tables as you want, but it's not very fast for downloads compared to cable, etc. (~50-70 kbps). Also, not all areas have Broadband services, so check your area first. The National Access is the same price and slighly faster than dialup. The connectivity depends solely on Verizon's coverage. If Verizon cell phones work well in your area, you should stay connected at all times. Hope this helps.

  7. Verizon = wider coverage

Sprint = fastest speed when in broadband covered area

Cingular = not very good currently. Only reason I haven't gotten an iPhone yet.
  8. verizon is awful..at least for me it was
  9. Hey Chemist
    This is judge from pokerroom
Where are you using verizon im by NY
  10. I have the Verizon Wireless card, in Northern Va. I use this as my backup after losing $1500 worth of chips when Cox Cable went out. I take my son to the pool and bring laptop with me to play some poka. It only gets 2 bars there, but even at 2 bars it is 100% reliable, it has never locked up, not even for 1 second. This area has wireless broadband, which is supposed to be as fast as cable, but in fact is only about 1/2 the speed, but is still more than fast enough for poker.
