I also shove. Without any reads this shove seems rather weak, I don't think qq, kk or aa are in his range. I think at worst your up against two overs, and a fair percentage of the time your a 4:1 favorite vs mid pairs. Also, although it would suck to finish 9th, you are playing for 1st, so confrontation is inevitable.
out of curiousity, what did he have? -
his range is pretty wide here with 2 limpers. I have made this move with AA to make it look weak, so i would so there isn't a chance he has AA,kk,QQ. That said i still maek the call
-
that was exactly my thought.. i ruled out AA and KK immediately, thought def possibility of AK, but im calling if he showed that hand face up, i want to win, i will flip without question.. i also thought alot of mid pairs a weak player might shove here, and i had just seen the guy call a raise with ace 7, so i called.. he had QQ.. obviously im not happy to lose but im thikning more about the long term and if it was a bad play or not.. i think he got extremely lucky here because i had basically the one hand that he beats that i might call with.. im folding lower pairs and i thought to myself, it doesnt look like i have a hand as stong as JJ here so he might shove like 7/7-10/10 here, maybe even a lower pair.. i dont know..
