I'm new to the game, is there a chart somewhere with the best starting hands for PLO
-
10 10 J J best , WORD .
-
AAJT double suited
OR
AAKK double suited
only a sick game like omaha could have two best starting hands. -
I wouldnt worry about the "best" starting hands, as plo isnt really about that, unless youre playing a shortstack and wait for aaxx to get it allin with. Its a lot tougher to have a chart, as for example KKjt is considered a good starting hand, yet when matched against aa it plays bad, whereas 89tjds would be a slight fav over aa72. Dont overplay aaxx and kkxx type of hands- you want to try and get over 40%ish in preflop with them before you can commit to any flop. As a general rule, only play 4 cards that can all work together i.e. 6789, tt98, akqj, etc. Loosen up your starting hand range in position- position is even more important in plo than nlh.

nice response

yes, good response. buuuuut, i think overplaying any aces loses me a lot of money. when i "slowplay" the aces, i make a lot of money. if you hit an ace noone takes you for it, and aces are so easily snapped, if you keep on going all in in three way pots your varience could be through the roof.
so i'd play them with caution nless yu can commit, as said above, about 50% of your stack preflop.
i like AAJTssdd -
Aces are s**t in plo only good if you hit a set id much rather have a hand like 6789ds or 9TJQds

Statisically, it is AAKK ds but only by a very small margin and this is only against a single player.
Of course when I get dealt this hand, the flop is alway 456 rainbow. -

Late in tournaments if you have low M's and say there is a pot raise and a call, then AA is valuable because you are a favourite vs everything pre and so can ship it in profitably. AAxx does not play well post flop however and when deep stacked it loses nearly all its value. Starting hand selection is important in PLO and most people play far too many hands. Like a low pair and two other connectors is a pretty garbage hand but people won't let it go because they look at it and think it has great potential. Like 337d8d. Its an ok hand in certain spots but people will play it out of position in raised pots far too often.
PLO is much more about post flop, if you are reasonably nitty (compared to others i mean not compared to NLHE obv) with starting hand selection OOP and play good post flop in it, you can be very succesful imo as most people, especially at low limits, have no clue what they are doing.
