agreed, but then you can as well open shove with this stack size? when is raise/call better, when is open shove better?

  6. yeah u can open shove, but by simply raising makes your hand look stronger. open shoving sometimes will get called by lighter hands. better to raise/call shove imo

  7. How nitty is it to open fold? Tough stack to play utg with a med pair.
  8. If I was going to call any re-shove, I'd open push.

I can find a fold to a few of the other stacks.

You are showing huge strength, and should not get reshoved light. You still have RR fold equity if you raise fold. This is at the absolute bottom of the amount of chips I'd ever raise fold, but against seat 5, the other big stack, and the BB, I'd probably find a puke fold.
  9. thanks for your thoughts guys. which range of the lower pocket pairs would you open fold here?

btw i open shoved and lost to QQ even though i hit my set:

LightbringerAA raises to 6 699 and is all in

  10. open shove = terrible, imo / open shoving screams a mediocre hand to me

i'd rather raise instead of shoving UTG, cuz ur oop and no sense in shoving UTG in that spot, you can easily find a better spot, your holding might be weaker then but ur position will be stronger

if you just gotta play the 88 UTG there, raise instead so it's a possibility you draw in more action and some weaker hands

    but what do i know
  11. I think raise calling a shove from the BB would have been worse that open shoving, but that's just me.

I would have raise folded to the BBs shove which SHOULD only be overpairs or AK, considering the stack and position of the OP.
