  1. I personally think it's the gayest thing I've seen in awhile....BronzeStar? Who gives a shit....Supernova? Ya, we all know already...get over yourself either way imo.
  2. I don't see what's the point of showing you are a Supernova in cash games... I'm probably not gonna sit down with someone who openly shows he plays insane amounts of poker.
  3. Bad idea to display your status. Just extra information your opponents don't have to work for to find out.

  4. Great Idea if you play infrequently (bronze star) and you are good at poker. Otherwise, bad idea.
  5. Terrible idea for cash games. It might stop a few 3 bets in tournaments as people might not want to mess with you, so you will get less action on your good hands, but will be able to steal more pots, which i feel is a net positive in tournaments. It is extra information, so it might not even be a good idea for tournaments, but it is clearly a very bad idea for lower to mid-limit cash games.

Oh yeah I didn't think of that, very true.

  7. ya i def don't display mine and just laugh at the SN's that do
  8. Actually, I've found in the last 15 days since I made SilverStar that the micro peeps give me more respect. My c-bets and occasional bluffs are working more frequently and I've been getting a lot of walks. LOL.

    This.

...which is why I display mine, so I look like a donkey.

If you are supernova it's dumb, because if your good opponents didn't know who you were before... they now know you aren't likely a fish.

Edit: If Full Tilt had an option to remove the ironman status from being seen I would def do that. Def kills my anonymity in higher level tourneys.

  10. I felt like I was getting wayyyy more resistance when I had mine showing... no need for it imo except for what jennifear said :)

  11. you can change it on ftp ...just go to my promotions in the cashier and then to iron man can change the display iron man status
  12. lol, im bronze star for life. very difficult to be a higher vip level unless you play a mad volume of high stakes tourneys. im pretty sure pokerstars is giving less vpps for tourneys now than they used to
  13. You guys kind of missed the point, I don't really have an opinion on whether it is +EV or not, I just think it's GAY.

  14. I saw a couple of Supernova's at a 12/180 Turbo. I was like WTF.
  15. i saw a supernove multi table .10/.25 cash games, is that normal?
  16. I know some supernova and even a supernova elite who it displayed at 10/20 and midstakes lhe, but maybe some arent even aware. I also know that Scott Seiver (on the advice of Scott Clements if I recall properly) was wearing his bracelet at wsop and he said he had the feeling his raises were getting more respect.

  17. i'm erect over the prospect of displaying Elite status whenst i get it...
  18. i think its gay and i make fun of anyone that shows it especially when im on the rail

I'm erect over the fact that you used the word "whenst"
  22. yeah i opened up a .50/1 lhe table and saw a supernova it achieves nothing but scare people off or make them concentrate some more
  23. i generally don't have a good read on any of my opponents unless i have played with you a heap. Therefor, i use this little bit of information when trying to put my opponent on a range. If they are supernova, i basically give them a range that they 'should' have or a range that makes sense, if they are displaying less than supernova i assume they have hands in their range that they 'shouldn't' have. So, i agree with Jennifear and others, that if you are a good player that is less than supernova, display away. If you are supernova, hide it, no need to let your opponents know that you probably know what you're doing.
With that said, if/when i make it to supernova elite, i'll consider displaying that in order to stroke my ego.

Well you should form an opinion because whether is a +EV or not is all that matters in your decision to display it or not.

  27. Well, I qualify for half of this.

  29. Makes about as much sense as bringing $4500 to a .04/.08 limit stud table, which I saw this morning.
