  6. Although, his lead out might be to catch a flush draw or some form of a draw. A standard raise on flop, and let him pay for extra cards might be a good move too. If Villain is indeed a Maniac - hard to put him on 2 cards; Thus, I now like the raise on flop, see turn and re-evaluate hand.
  7. bet 10-12k on turn giving illusion of FE and he may shove on u 1 pair/draw/air type hands

The only reason I suggest the min-raise here is cos of the read we have on the villain of being a maniac. Even though it looks quite strong, if villain has been quite all over the place then he's likely not to take much notice.

I prefer the raise to 9k tho.

Since you posted this before my last response. I liked what you did, this unfortunately is a scare card, but I still feel he is on the flush draw more so than the open ended straight. I either over bet the flop to force a decision for a good portion of his stack, or try pot control and check if you think this hit him. This will allow you to maybe boat up, but if he is on the diamonds he gets the free card, but now with less outs. Tough spot.

I think I play pot control here as you have plenty of chips, take a free card, if it blanks, he may bluff off more chips, if a non board diamond hits you can still get away from hand with plenty of chips to play with.

I was agreeing with the min-raise. Although, more and more when i lead with a set or min-raise, i have been running into a lot more folds and losing some big chances in gaining chips. I do however like the 9k raise more in this situation, because he has hidden his hand well... with the raise PF and the 3 x RR Villain might believe his hand to be AQ+... I am interested to find out what happens.

Ummmm considering Hero has less behind than what is in the pot, I think it's a bit late for pot control.. and you can't be serious about checking the turn and folding the river if a diamond comes off

I misread his chips apparently, I thought he had 53 not 35k =/. Either way, if hero folds to a diamond coming off that doesn't pair the board he has an M = 13 or so... You are saying he can't get away from the hand?

    35502 - 90 - 2250 - 9000 = 24162 still a good chip stack IMO.

Although, if he pushes and guy calls he has monster chip stack, and is probably more +EV.

Please excuse the implied fact that this indeed is a bad beat in a PD forum (that's obvious). What I can't understand is both our stack sizes are damaging & why on earth would anybody fall off a cliff like this. I know the old 10 to 1 chip count rule where the $100k stacks are calling any two vs $3k stacks but this just struck me as odd. I didn't say a word after, but the whole table went apeshit afterward.

I could have played this differently by blowing him off his hand on the flop, but that's just ruining accumulation in the long run. Any pros have anything to add besides an LOL.

I accept all view points but think you need a good nights sleep. Other than just jamming the flop, I don't know how I could have been more aggressive.

    results oriented?
  22. My apologies if I'm interpreting your "results oriented" post incorrectly as I believe the fact that I lost here to be irrelevant. If there was a way I could make my point without displaying the ending I would have preferred that debate. Had I won the hand I would have been just as puzzled by his play & posted it as is.

  24. I don't understand the point of the post either. You played the hand fine...obv there are diff ways you possibly could play it but you took a pretty good line and your opponent played really badly and got lucky. what are you expecting to hear? I just don't get it.
