whats the perfect reshove steal size?

    after and open from middle position and a late position caller, with A8 of diamonds in the small blind with 22 big blinds, is this a perfect reshove size due to fold equity? both callers had around 30bb, if not can anyone recommend what the perfect value re-shove and a pure re-shove steal, thanks

    Pretty spot on from what i go by.. I reshove around 20 bbs alot.

    there is no perfect resteal size just experiment & go with game flow

    When im down around 22BB I wouldnt shove anything worse than A,9 or higher. It really depends on how you feel at the moment but I would really look for a better spot. Normally when MP opens up and theres one caller behind I tend to wait for a better spot to try and steal the pot. Plus what Leeroydafish said....depending on the antes it comes down to basic game flow on how much you trust your reads. I look for the weaker players to take advantage of and make my moves there.

    depends on the dynamics of everything involved ,is a nit raising from the small? a reg? a monkey? do you have to go to the bathroom?

    Hard to say, but I think one way to get an idea is to look at what the original raiser is going to have to call and what kind of odds he is getting. That should help you figure out what his calling range might be there, and therefore what kind of value youre getting out of a 3-bet shove. Anything from 12 BBs-25 BBs can be appropriate depending on the spot. Below that Im mainly shoving out of desperation and just crossing my fingers.

    Call me crazy, but for this specific situation, I'd prefer jamming 89 suited over A8 suited. At least if you get called, you'll most likely have straight possibilities, flush possibilities, and 2 live cards (obviously not if they have 99+..but you get what I'm saying).

    Personally, I'm folding 89 suited AND A8 suited in this situation anyways, BUT if you're in the re-steal kind of mood, you definately don't want to make the attempt and get called by a better ace. Hoping for only 3 outs really sucks xD
