  1. no real reads on table. i just find myself up against overpairs a lot in this situation and than get stuck on low flop. raising is out of the question pre imo. what's your play here?

    Full Tilt Poker Game #18883344239: Early Double - B (143239663), Table 53 - 50/100 - No Limit Hold'em - 17:09:57 ET - 2010/03/01

    Seat 1: kowboyk87 (4,545)

    Seat 2: bohemian119 (5,279)

    Seat 3: wannsen (2,805)

    Seat 4: A NEW ACCOUNT (1,322)

    Seat 5: DJNutstar (2,900)

Seat 6: GoldfishEmpire (4,694), is sitting out

    Seat 7: AKQJ20 (7,671)

    Seat 8: 27off busts AA (2,300)

    Seat 9: carpus1 (1,405)

27off busts AA posts the small blind of 50

carpus1 posts the big blind of 100

The button is in seat #7

    *** HOLE CARDS ***

    Dealt to bohemian119 [Jd Jc]

    kowboyk87 raises to 400

bohemian119 has 15 seconds left to act

    bohemian119???
  2. if raising is out of the uestion then i flat and play for set value
  3. I still feel like a raise is the best play here.

Make it about 1000-1200 and then reevaluate.
  4. 3 bet/call shove.

4x ep raise is always 99,TT,JJ. You hold the top of his range.

  5. So you don't have any reads, but you narrowed your villains range to AA, KK, QQ? OPR on your villain only shows a few hundred tournaments, and -37%. I don't think I'm folding here, and probably thinking about a shove. UTG raise ain't what it used to be, imo.
  6. well if raising is out of the question then wtf is the question, theres only 1 play? ur not thinking of folding are u?

  7. 4x raise is 90 percent Ak, the other 10 percent he has 1010 or 99, so 3bet call,

100% this, also include AQ/AK, but either way, you're crushing or flipping against his range, seems fine to 3bet/call
  9. thanks for all the responses. i din't like the flat option with the whole table behind me, and i also didn't like the raise idea because i'm guessing either AK or QQ+. doubt he's doing this with 10's or lower.

    results...

  13. lol really, u say u have no reads yet u narrow his range for 1 raise enough to fold jacks, it makes no sense, i would need a super sick read to fold here... ur in good shape often here and are often dominating his hand u got lucky to be rihgt

  16. Waaaaay too nitty. And results mean nothing here- MTTs are a volume game.

This is a big leak- you're not assigning realistic opening ranges (my post above is a semi level) and are missing out on the opportunity to chip up with a premium hand in position on an initial raiser.

You simply don't have enough information to make a hero fold in this spot.

  27. I might be the only one that thinks this isn't the worst fold, especially since it's the Utg making a raise with so many left to act and no real reads, but 3bet and re-evaluate (or in this hand fold) isn't the worst play here IMHO

OBV the results has nothing to do with your play.

theres nothing helpful to say that hasnt already been said. and you get offended when people tell you you should have played it differently so whats the point.
