1. "Nice call... unlucky." - if he puts his money in bad and doesn't hit.
"Nice call... unlucky I had a hand / I wasn't bluffing." - if he makes a bad call at the showdown.
"Nice call... always trust that gut instinct ;)" - if he puts his money in bad and hits.

It's hard for some to refrain from calling out the donkey on his bad moves, and I've been a victim of that myself in the past. I think we all know that we shouldn't be doing that, but I don't see many players do the opposite. Why not encourage the donkey to keep making terrible calls? So many of them justify their plays by "having a feeling", and think their losses are due to bad luck, so why not casually and in a friendly way reinforce that belief into their little fish minds?

It would be great to see the day when this becomes common place. This can only increase the number of donkeys who would otherwise eventually educate themselves but don't because we reinforce that false belief without being confrontational or accusatory.

  2. Agree with you. I play mostly micro sngs, and I'm not very good, but at the levels I play you see the most horrid calls bets etc. Never understand calling out other people's plays.

Played in one awhile ago, where a guy said after the hand was over, I should have called, I had a q. That's when you know the guy is totally new. He was calling out people left and right the whole game. For making correct push/fold/calls. Ironically it was him and I heads up and I had a large chip lead, and he shoved I called w/ A6, he shows jj, I hit an ace. He says "WOW". He obviously hasn't played many turbos, or any other forms of poker.

I know isn't the case of what you're talking about ie when the total donk calls everyone else out, I just wanted to share.
  3. a bad call and a suck out is tolerable to an extent. but when they play a hand so badly and then get lucky they need to be called out

    Why, exactly? To what end?

  5. I'm more a fan of - "I hope you and your whole familiy dies"
  6. Just force yourself to type "nh" and move on. You will forget about it and get back to business.

  7. or if someone bluffs you big time and shows, what you should do is punch the end of the felt as hard as you can with a hammer fist. THEN!!! And this is only if he is sitting right next to you, give him a hard ass pat on the arm(like what you do to your buddies with an open hand but do it where it practically moves him off his chair)

    lololololol THEN!!!

put out your hand to shake his hand to prevent him from punching you...

    ; )

  8. be honest with them. let um know how ya feel

"nh" works great, they think you mean it and you get to sarcastically complement their play. It's win/win, they'll still make the bad calls.

You can always expect this to come out of my mouth whether I get bad beat, coolered, or caught bluffing. Anytime I bust, thats my line. LOL.
  14. I rage/tilt for like 5 min, or until I bust out, fwiw, but only in tourney.
  15. i call them degenerates, which is exactly what they are

Sigh................this has been said here time and time again, but people calling you with garbage, chasing the miracle IS A GOOD THING.

If I get it aw in with my aces I want people to call with garbage.
  17. There are people in the sit n go's who have no concept for equity/ sitngo strategy etc. When they call you down with AQ vs AK in the early blinds and catch their Q, or call a 3 bet shove w AK against AA and get their miracle. fuck them

Yeah but don't you think that's a good thing? That they have no concept?
  19. I agree with OP. Normally I just go with the "nh" and I spose sometimes they will believe it when their gutty got there. Every now and then if I can throw a few words their way that will actually make them think they made a good play, I will. Whatever solidifies their line of thinking as "good poker", so be it. I look at it as investing in the future.

  20. My latest is "You are a genius! turn pro now!"
  21. Here's an idea.... Don't say anything at all. Turn the chat right off if you can't control yourself. All of these stupid comments make you all look like pathetic poor sports.

I know man, I hate playing idiots too.
  23. I think it has to be said that a lot of the micro level people who refuse to fold are just playing for fun, and just feel like gambling. When you call them out in the chat, you are just adding to their fun because they don't really care what you think of their play.

  25. never talk smack at a poker table.

It just encourages them to play better.
  26. They paid the buy in, they are entitled to play anyway they like.
  27. Just say 'nh' and move on. I've gotten sucked out on a million times before, and will will get sucked out on billions of times in the future, but that's why poker is profitable. The worse plays that I see, the better the games are that I'm playing in... I love seeing awful plays.
  28. I've been running like dogshit recently, and all I've been saying to help me not tilt like crazy is "great play, or nice call." It's really funny to see what kind of response you get and helps me laugh off my misfortunes.

Great suggestions OP! I'll try to use them from now on!
  30. The funny thing is people who make these kind of posts and call other players "donkeys" are pretty awful losing players them selves. This is just a way for you to blind your own bad play for your self and blame it on others. Pretty pathetic if you ask me. You try to sound like you some poker guru yet 90% of the time your just one of them.
