  1. I rarely overshove, but is this a spot on the river where I should?

Villain has been opening quite wide and playing flops aggressively but has avoided showdown in the 40min that I have been at the table. In two or three pots he has over bet the pot on the river (sometimes quite significantly) that is why I elected to give him a spot to bluff on the river.

Is his calling range going to be greatly affected if I make it $300 as opposed to shoving? Also, the exact hand before I took a bad beat in a semi-large spot so my line may appear to be steam and could induce looser calls.

As played, should I over shove in this spot on my c/r?

  2. I like it as played, I think an overshove would get a lot of nines to fold there (well sometimes). A slightly larger bet to maybe like 375 would squeeze out a little more profit without tightening his calling range.

Also, have you played with this guy at all before. Would he think that you were trappy? Has he seen you make spew plays before. In all honesty, if he has seen you make some "wierd" plays before, or he doesn't think you are too tricky, then you could argue for shoving, but I think given the information and his hand, I like it as played, just a slightly larger river bet I think.

  3. 1st time playing with him, I don't play a lot of cash on stars, though I would like to up my volume

  4. every 4 hands over shove.... it works for all the top pros
  5. played well :) altho i like c/r turn

  6. normally i would c/r the turn, but I had seen villain make some large over bets on very well coordinated boards on the river, and i thought giving him a chance to do this would maximize my value in this exact spot. i figure he's not calling me on the turn w/ out a 9 x +, and my best chance at value was inducing the bluff. I might be wrong though.
