When should you cashout and for how much?

    So, in the FTP Cashouts, when's the ideal time to cashout chips and how much? Really not familiar with these - I know cashing out early is bad, but when should you? FT Bubble?

    Ever? That can't be right. I remember someone on PTP who shipped one of the FTOPs cashouts, and his cashout was for more than first place prize. First place was like $20k and he cashed out for $30k or something insane.

    well they distribute the leftover cashout pool to the final table based on chipstack so i can tell you for sure you never want to cashout right before. i can't think of a reason to cash out (maybe i would in a FTOPS where i was way out of my roll and overmatched skill wise) but if there are any good reasons i'd be interested in hearing them.

    I only played in one, but assuming i understood that it was 2 diff prize pools, the only time i could see cashing out would be if ur HU with a decent chip lead, cash out some to get a lil from the cashout pool, then go on to pwn it and now u got 1st place money and then some

    You cant do that. The Cashout pool is distributed to the members of the FT once it is reached. So it is impossible to get HU and cashout some. And the correct answer is never cashout. Youre just stealing equity from yourself really. Yes you make some of your buyin back. Yes you could make more then your buyin back. But the remaining funds in the cashout pool are worth more once you hit the FT then when you cashout before hand. Plus you will still have a large stack to abuse tables, bubbles, clowns who cash out parts of their stack and you will be able to make a deeper run. DONT BE A CLOWN. It will ultimately rape you.

    no way anyone cashed out for 30k while first was 20k and if they did they would of had to have been an overwhelming chip leader and a idiot
