1. When I opened stars today I saw that the RSA Security Token is available in the VIP Store - but where? Had no problem finding the other new items such as the laptop and ipod dock, but couldn't find the security token. I hope it's not going to put me out a lot of FPPs - certainly no more than a cookie basket!
2. Hey, I was just scrambling to find it as well. I think it'll be up today; that news clip just came out.

I doubt it will be more than $50 worth of FPP.
3. its under the security tab in the store and its 6k FPPs ($96)

4. i didnt hear anything about this what is it?

hmm, i don't see a security tab yet. they have yet to update it for me

jesus, 6k FPP? i'll go for it, but god damn
6. Pretty amped for this, It would be great if PS Bryan could post in this tread explaining the feature a little more, but anything with more security for accounts is a + for sure.
7. yeah dont see the security tab yet either on my pstars. i sent them an email explaining my need to give more of my monies to them, but i havent heard back yet.
8. http://www.pokerstars.com/poker/room...ecurity/token/

explains it all right there, weird it is in the store for some people and not others...

9. Ordered mine....vwp Stars

What is a RSA Security Token?

A RSA Security Token is a piece of hardware issued by pokerstars, in addition to your password. Once a RSA Security Token is enabled for your account, you will be required to enter your RSA Security Passcode every time you login.

The RSA Security Passcode is a combination of two elements:
1. Your four-digit RSA Security PIN followed by
2. The six-digits currently displayed on the window of your RSA Security Token.
Note that the RSA Security PIN is not related to your PokerStars PIN.

The use of the RSA Security Token enhances account security by providing two-factor authentication, requiring you to have ‘something you know’ (your PokerStars password and RSA Security PIN) and ‘something you have’ (your RSA Security Token).

This feature is a strong defense against keyloggers and unauthorized people accessing your account.

10. so if you activate this token is it only on the desktop/laptop you ordered it on and you can only log in from that cmoputer or am I wrong? Kind of confused here.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SecurID

can be used on any computer - think of it as a one time use password, everytime you log in.

with it, your account is nearly 100% safe except for someone you know physically stealing it, and knowing your password.

a 6 digit pin is regenerated on the token ever 30 or 60 seconds, and is paired with a 4 digit code supplied by pokerstars, in addition to your username and your account password.

this login proccess would need to be activated possibly on each PS client you use, but using it on different computers or IP addresses is no problem.
12. if they dont pop up in your vip store just email stars...they just fix it for me
13. I love stars but why should I be paying for increased security measures?
14. Just ordered mine, happy to pay the 6k FPPs for it.

Whenever I had five figures in my account before I was so paranoid, the peace of mind is easily worth it for me (assuming i ever get another big score :P)

15. I saw these for sale on ebay, anyone know if you can buy one off ebay and use em w/ stars?
16. Shouldnt they be offering this kind of security for free? What about the people who play low stakes and 6k fpp's are hard to get? They should have the same type of security for both high and low stakes players if u ask me

def not. They need to be registered to a particular user.
18. pokerstars offers the best security of any poker site bar none

And to suggest they should offer everyone an RSA token for free is laughable, considering they cost money to purchase, ship, and customer service to operate. Perhaps offering it free to Supernovas and above would have been a kind gesture, but the bottom line is most low stakes players don't have enough in their accounts to make hacking it worthwhile for thieves.

6k FPPs really isn't all that much to generate even for a low stakes grinder if they token is something they want.

19. i know its only fpp points but having to give something for security, even if its worth it is just ucking crazy, ill be getting mine now lol but still, jesus

20. If you don't want to pay for this you can still get the "pokerstars Pin" which adds extra security and is FREE. Go to "Account" then "Login Security Settings" in the pokerstars lobby. This will protect against keyloggers.

All credit to stars for doing this. With the credit crunch, your money is safer there than in a bank.

It's really full tilt which needs to introduce this. Tilt is behind the curve on account security IMHO.

this

To all of you that think this should be free, why should they be giving out RSA tokens that cost them quite a bit of money? You just don't understand the people it took to get this together, operation costs, and the equipment costs associated with this EXTRA security.

This is above and beyond security... if you don't have at least 1K in your account, I wouldn't be bothering with it. I have more than that and I don't think I will until I hit a big score... ohhh its coming I can feel it...
22. oh and full tilt??? hello??

you are falling behind in every aspect - customer service, security, traffic, schedule, bad beats etc...
23. Yikes, I'm not sure how many people are registered on stars, but making millions of these tokens and sending them out isn't something anyone should expect them to do...

I was hoping for a lower price, but I'm still willing to pay the $96.
24. E-mail from stars:

Hello Michael,

Thank you for your email.

I have given your account the required privileges, and you can now access
the new pokerstars Account Security Enhancements from the 'Account' menu
by clicking on 'Login Security Settings'.

You should now be able to see the token in the FPP store.

We're in the midst of giving everyone the required privileges, but let us
know if we can help with anything else.

Regards,

StephenW
PokerStars Game Security Team.

idk, call ADT and see if they will come install a home security system and monitor it for free. better security comes with a price. I'll bet those with $100k in their accounts would be more interested than the casual player that keeps $100.
26. That's fine. I usually only have ~2k in my account at any time. Maybe if I had more I would think otherwise.

The analogy to ADT is pretty retarded. I have entrusted ADT with nothing in my home. I have entrusted stars with the cash in my account. Just seems they should be doing everything in their power to maintain the security of the account.
27. you entrusted stars with the cash in your account based on their previous level of security. they are now offering you enhanced security for an additional charge. you lose nothing with their offer and can choose to buy additional security. seems pretty cool to me.
28. Im def no baller online. But been had this feature for over 1 year now. Never gave anything either to get it.
