  1. Every night I log on here, I see two or three new posts basically saying, "well, it sucks all these bad things are happening to online poker, but maybe it's a good thing. There are very few winning players anyways, and it leads to addiction, blah blah blah."

Ya, not a high number of players are +EV, but some still like the challenge of attacking something and trying to get better. Poker is like an intellectual sport, but not a boring one like quoting Chaucer or something.

Some people know they're going to lose most of the time, but they still get the rush of that win once in a while (and can keep their play under control). For people who lose their homes and families to it, well, that's a gambling problem. People lose their lives and families to alcohol, but I can still go to the store and get some beer if I want. Look how prohibition worked out, huh? People wouldn't stand for it because it was ridiculous.

Some people on here advocate living in some kind of nanny state, where the government controls all your activities because independent thought is kinda dangerous. Well give me a break people. You're all adults. Learn how to control your hobby, or find a new one. And if you can't control it, get some help and don't punish the rest of us. It's a slipperly slope my friends.

I have a question for you. Why is it that if the government down there all of a sudden said, "hey, guns are dangerous, so maybe every wacko who attends a gun show shouldn't be able to pick one up," everyone would be up in arms (no pun intended), crying that their amendment rights are being trampled, etc. etc. etc.

Yet some of you are willing to roll over and let the government surreptitiously destroy online poker in your country by attacking it from all sides without actually making it "illegal."

Basically, you're advocating your government coming into your homes and tell you when you can or can't PLAY CARDS! Doesn't that sound RIDICULOUS??
  2. I agree. This is completely ridiculous. Unfortunately we have let the govt. do whatever the hell they want. Unfortunately the poker sites and the funding sites sat on their hands and did nothing while this passed. It amazes me that you could own a multi billion dollar business and the U.S. government decides for no really good reason to essentially shut you down and you do NOTHING! Where was/are the lobbyists? Why are they not standing up for their business and our rights as Americans?

I hope this all works out in the end but as of now there is no real options to deposit money besides epassporte, which sucks because their fees are horrid and I don't see a way to pass the fee on to the sites like there was with neteller. I do see that UB has ATM online and that could be a good option but I only see it on UB.

This may work out in the end and I sure as hell hope it does but the sites and we as players need to do a hell of a lot more than has been done. I don't have the answwers but with all the money the poker sites make I would think they could pay some people to come up with some and get them implemented.

The U.S. government needs to GTFO of my my life and my business. Let's fix this fucking mess now. I know it isn't going to do anything but I am sending an email to each of my members of congress (again) to voice my displeasure with this situation. God damn this pisses me off.

  4. Yeah I completely agree. It is a pretty ignorant way to view things. You can't control yourself so you need the government to step in and do it for you? Our leaders themselves are out of control. The last thing anyone should want is a government as incompetent as ours controlling what we do simply because some people have an addiction.
  5. im down big time but one thing doesnt change...<object height="350" width="425"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/_eealXni-5Q"><param name="wmode" value="transparent"><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/_eealXni-5Q" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" height="350" width="425"></object>
  6. I dont think Chaucier is boring...
  7. P.S. I only wrote that post because I think it's sad that the country that drove the poker revolution is going to be shut out. It's the principle of the thing. Anyone who can still access party knows there are still plenty of Euro fish around and as the companies expand more into Asia the pond will only grow.

Just blows the U.S. won't be there to enjoy it because of such ridiculous and overbearing policy. It's a card game!

  8. Expands in to Asia? Explain that one to me. I mean do you really think the Chinese Government is going to let their citizens play online poker? Wasn't google blocked in China? Maybe the Russians will be a bunch of fish.
  9. There are more countries in Asia than China champ....

  10. I think the same people crying about being addicted to poker and needing government interference to help are the same people that would find something else to be addicted to without poker. The ability to be addicted is part nature and part nurture, and for the most part, if youre easily addicted to one thing, you can just as easily become addicted to something else. I had a family member who was addicted to crack, their life was in shambles, but they ended up turning it around, and became addicted to fishing instead. The addiction is less unhealthy for sure, but still a desire this person can't control. It is sort of humorous. Going on the lake at 5 in the morning in February isn't my idea of fun.
  11. "I'll take up gambling, showing you thereby
    The curse of chance, and all its evils treat;
From it proceeds false swearing and deceit,
Blaspheming, murder, and- what's more- the waste
Of time and money; add to which, debased
And shamed and lost to honour quite is he,
Who once a common gambler's known to be
    ."

No shit? Really? A lot of money in them places as well. Are we talking about the ones that have Muslim law...which ones. Please tell...
  13. appropriate quote much?
  14. The historical references are mixed on whether Chaucer was a degenerate gambler, but if he played it was almost certainly "Hazard" a predecessor to craps and where the phrase "at sixes and sevens" comes from.
  15. if they can get in on the profits? absolutely.
  16. WpqJets,

If this in anyway ignited partially by my post tittled "Maybe it is a goot thing", That post was obv sarcasm. I agree.

  17. GIVE IT A REST, STOP MAKING THE SAME POSTS OVER AND OVER, WAIT IT OUT DAMMIT
  18. But I actually prefer this Quote from the Bard (Henry V, Part I):

Wherein cunning, but in craft? Wherein crafty, but in villainy? Wherein villanous, but in all things?
  19. Japan is the second largest economy in the world. South Korea is around 10th in the world.

  21. Original post is one of the best posts for awhile. The ban was instituted by Bill Frist and some other douche for their image, which is now obv to shit since they're (obv) scumbags. Banning it because of so-called 'addiction' is a lie to cover up that they are ignoring central American values and ideals. Ban online poker in America? Are you freakin serious? What's Capitalism good for?

  22. wouldnt it be the people who think it's a bad thing that would be considered whiners?: ) no need to whine if you're happy with the situation!
