I was mentioning this guy to a few friends of mine the other day as well. I've played with him a few times and he plays some real hyperlag style with absurd vpip/pfr stats and just seems to crush. First started playing in January at the smallest stakes then right around March 7th just starts playing 200rs, 100rs, 1ks, etc. and getting 5-fig scores on the regular. All i've gathered is that his city is Coral Springs but that doesn't help much.

  10. Played with Squee a bunch, he's pretty sick. Played with G-Wow yesterday in the 2R1A and he called me Oman, a nickname I used to be called back when I played Magic. He's from my home town so he either met me through some of my friends from Magic or played Magic himself. He wouldn't tell me who he was though. He was on my left for like 3 hours and played pretty crazy. Was definitely hectic to play against him but playing deep as you do in the 2R1A it was pretty fun to f around a bit.
  11. i was thinking the exact same thing about squee lastnight, just INSANE scores for somebody who has appeared in last 6 months
  12. High stakes, playing well, and ridic heaters....turns u into a superstar!

but how does one just go from grinding the lowest stake tourneys to one day playing a $200 rebuy without any huge scores in between?

  14. what about Hogmagundy (stars and FT)? he plays this über-TAG style that is just crushing and he came outta nowhere, he's been at 7/9 of the last FTs I was at, wtf?

    kinda shady imo.

yea, I could tell squee was good from the first few times I played with him... Made my life fairly difficult every time I played with him.

Appreciate the respect guys I don't even want to tell you guys how often I've followed you guys to pick up your styles. just finished your book volume 2 apestyles. There was a tourney where I 4 bet KK and you flatted and check min raise shipped 44 on AJQ flop really deep in a 55 rebuy. n. I tank fold and you tilted me the whole day showing that hand. Right after that hand I found out you had a book, best investment a tourney player can make definitely helped me to get where I am. Look forward to seeing you at the tables

i wonder about this too. even if i came into a large sum of money, im still going to work on my game and gradually move up the stakes

Fuck it. If i had a large sum of money and all debt was paid, I'd play high stakes for shits and giggles. Obv I'd get my ass handed to me.

I heard that book is really good. More and more tempted to read it. My shit works at low/micro stakes and really don't want to alter my game too much. I don't see myself moving up in the near future due to cashing out and buying big ticket things with my money.

As smart as you are, I'm sure you're doing the Ali, rope a dope, since you know how people think you should be thinking, you're changing some, sometimes you're not, keep em guessing. Congrats on the FTOPS victory, and congrats to Squee on your recent success.
  22. I am thinking G-Wow is a guy who changed his username or a pro who just started playing on stars. Like it was said he just started on Stars 2 months ago and has been killin it. Squee is on fire and he just did a interview here on P5 in regards to his Sunday 500 win..
  23. Oh crap Squee is reading the WPT one hand at a time books, i need to read em instead of using them for decoration since i bought em...

  25. I watched you ship it... Best chat box ever, 4 left.

    Apestyles: I'll take ICM + 10k.

    Table: No screw that.

    Apestyles has won the tournament.

maybe someone noticed his success at grinding the lower stakes and he found a private backer who wanted to move him up in levels? I don't know for sure but I would think that's certainly a possibility.
