Im running a $3.40 18-Man sng stake atm. Over 150 games im up about $40 or 11 Buy-ins. Is this decent for that amount of volume? I've been hovering around the break even mark for a while. Im thinking about adding in some 45 Mans to help build the BR faster. I realize they are higher variance and dont fill up as fast but when you do win it's a nice bit of $$.

What are your thoughts on the 45's compared to the 18 Mans? -
Anytime you can afford to withstand variance it's a good thing. I just always think that in terms of all of the other bad players donking off chips on other tables while I'm gaining equity at mine. That's why the value on huge MTTs is so large when you finally make a deep run.
Just focus on BR management and don't get impatient. When in doubt, I think I'd use a 50-75 buyin rule for the 45's and you'll never run out of money. -
Yeah, youre def right about being patient. I just need to worry about what I can control and continue to improve.

Not to hijack here but anyone have some tips for 45 mans? I play mostly MTTs and I'm looking to start grinding some MTSNGs to build my roll for higher buyins.

the 45man turbos on stars are an absolute shovefest... av stake usually below 10bb before the money. Definitely abuse the bubble in these.
the 45mans on FTP are a little better structure, except that no antes ever kick in, so extremely tag is best with bubble pressure obv. -
In your case, the world. $3.40s are unplayable because of the gross rake. $3.25 45-mans have 5% less rake and are the easy choice here. You are comparing horse manure to ice cream! :)

I love both 18 and 45mans.. i play on tilt tho... usually these are the core of my grinding... both are easy to mass multitable, 18mans if i gotta be somewheres i know i can load up 20 and 75 minutes later ill be done... 45s on ftp anyway are listed right at the top of the tourney page so i know im getting alot of constant donkey action...
