  1. Now Im not saying that they all play bad or anything like that.. cause i understand the value of restealing and everything like that. But to me it seems that some of these peeople are way luckier then others. I mean how many times can you get it in as a 4 to1 dog and win. Apparently they `can do it like 3 out of 4 and win it seems to me that when they make these plays and resteals that whem they work they pic up lots of extra chps and when they dont work and they get called they just seem to catch.... way more then the odds dictate they should. Oh well maybe i just need to play worse to be better.
  2. Which ranked donk u speak of? Annette, obv has a lucky acct as she has had 7-8 threads on her luckiness thats a given. She just signed up at the right time to get the lucky one.

But others are g00t. Real g00t.
  3. gtfo...........get wubangled
  4. Well it's sort of self-explanatory. To be a ranked player AND a donkey, you would have to be very very lucky.
  5. get wubangled

    lol

  6. well some are really good and also on major heaters; which is a dangerous combination.

  7. they dont get any luckier than anyone else...the thing is they create their own luck by placing themselves in good situations......you can't just watch them play one table and get lucky and then proclaim they are luckier than everyone else

  8. Good players are lucky players. Period.

It just seems like they get lucky. The difference between why the pros seem to suck out is becuase they are good enough that they have been able to build their chip stack up enough taht they can afford to lose to a couple of bad beats and still survive. As a result they stay in the tournament longer and eventually they will end up getting lucky at some point as pretty much everyone has to in order to win big in these tournaments.

    That's my take on it.
  9. Try poker tracking a ranked player over a hundred thousand hands or so. You'll realize they run the same as everyone else.

  10. probably they are more aggro thanmost, and push smaller, more undefined edges than an avg or noob player would.
  11. whats an undefined edge??? HOH4.......

  12. I have never tracked any of these players. Once in a while when im bored ill sweat these plahyers ocne in a while. Now I cant denie that these players are very aggresive and very good players. I am talkin bout when they flip there cards over. If there ahead they win if there behind they win. I dont seem to see these players taking horrible beats very often that is all im saying.

  13. I remember having this discussion once with someone and they changed my opinion on this topic. While some people appear to be lucky they actually have the types of chips that mean that there unlucky isn't quite what your unlucky means. So you have to ask yourself if you play too loose that you don't have enough chips when its nut cutting time or not enough chips because you didn't take advantage of opportunities along the way.

If you are a relatively tight player as an example you can't be upset when a loose player sucks out on you with the worst of it, they are playing their style and you are playing yours. Both work.

Clearly you do something right considering you won best all around player at the Fall Classic.
  14. sssshhhh dont let them know bout that or the wsop ring i won. LOL othewise i wouldnt be allowed to complain if they knew how lucky i was!!

  15. Selective memory. People remember the abnormal and unexpected, not all the times the best hands win the race.
  16. I once saw a ranked player, lose with AA.

    That is all.

    Cajun sends

  17. they buy a special program made from lee jones which favors them over their opponents, it's underground so i don't know too much about it.

  19. I played a tourney once and a friend was over. He bought half just to stay interested. I won the tournament but more than once I had the worst hand. He almost lost his mind at certain points but in the end it all magically made sense.

I think some styles require luck to mean that their AK beats QQ occasionally. Others styles require 5d6d to beat AJ. Sometimes even AA.

I have done this more than once against a short stacked player that of course gets upset and it always comes down to the fact that if they had more chips they could have moved me off of my hand. Anyway, if the best hand would always win, Phil Hellmuth would have all of our loot.
  20. btw congrats. I hadn't heard that you won.
  21. It's a combination of the volume they play...they play more tournaments than most, therefore they will suckout more than most as well as the fact that they are under more scrutiny as ranked players. It's more likely that a person will be watching a ranked player and notice if they suck out vs nobody pays attention to some random donk hitting a gutshot.

  22. ty beanie.... and also to the other guy where do i find this software and how much is it i would like to purchase it

  23. speaking as a semi random donk at least one person pays attention. He is usually the one found cursing.
  24. This is the topic of my next article, which was submitted yesterday. There's several reasons why this seems to be the case.

However, the OP certainly seems to have his mind made up that they're just luckier, rather than being better at accumulating, less afraid of gambling when ICM dictates, etc. He remembers the hand that got posted where Annette sucked out, rather than the hand she posted before it where she got it all in with a flopped a set of 5s that got counterfeited by the case two 6s on the turn and river.

But I welcome people who think they're just all luckboxes. That'll mean one fewer player will be busting their ass, and more money will be available to those who do.

  25. no its not luck.....its the secret code u type in if u r all in preflop....a diff one if all in after flop....and a 3rd if all in after turn........i havent decifered the code yet exactly, but once i do i wil get it to u

thats obv how the ranked "donkeys" do it...they r horrible just get lucky

oo and btw ari obv found a way to use it live when he won that tourney the other day
  26. how about the FACT that some of these ranked "donk" as you put them are better than you in general...pre-flop, post-flop...river, post-river...everything. also the difference between going deep and losing in the first hour can often be luck.

  27. The key word in your question is "seem." It may seem that they are luckier than the average player but they are not. Get over it. Quit crying cause your losing.

  28. Then you need to get out more. I've seen tons of them take plenty of gross beats.
  29. I LOL'd
