I play mostly on FTP and the rest on stars. All along FTP has been behind in support, but since getting bigger it is getting less accomodating. In the past I've qualified for a tournament and emailed them well in advance and they have helped me out.
I won a sat to 3 $200 FTOPS events. I can't play the last of the three and emailed them today, 11 days before the event, asking to use that money for a different FTOPS event.
Here is their reply:
Hello Dennis,
Thank you for contacting Full Tilt Poker Support.
Unfortunately, Full Tilt Poker players cannot receive refunds for
tournament seats and they cannot sell or transfer their seats to other
players. Once money is placed into the tournament prize pool, it cannot
be removed. If you play a satellite for a given tournament, you should
ensure that you are available on the date and time of the tournament.
I do apologize for the inconvenience, but wish you the best of luck in
the tournament.
Please let us know if there is anything else we can help you with
Dennis.
Regards,
Toney

I know their policy, but in the past they have changed it for me.
Although, that was back when they had a few thousand players and needed players. -
How many times have you done this in the past? Every time they have accommodated you they have done so by going against their own policies. I'd be grateful for the # of times they have said yes, more than upset about the one time they said no, and if you have done this several times they may have a certain limit as to how many times they will break the rules for you.

Once for me, once for a buddy.
-
yeah i dunno man, this is sort of a weak argument. they make the policy very clear. you can't just assume that you're going to get this done every time.
and while FTP does lag behind stars in certain ways, i don't know about this one. for players who play cash games as well as tourneys, FTP's multiple entries policy is nice because it provides you with actual cash as opposed to $T that can only be used in tourneys
sorry about the situation though. maybe you can get a buddy to play it for you, have him reimburse half of the buy-in or something and split the profits... dunno. good luck man. -
It's a lousy policy and a lousy practice.
In addition, to not help out a loyal customer in a situation like this is just bad business. -
I agree. Part of my gripe is knowing their intention to implement T$ soon. I'm not trying to just get cash, just play a different tourney, even a higher buy in and pay the difference.
-
AMEN to the resizable tables. LOVE THEM on PS.
-
LOL it's their software, their prizepool, their tournament. Too bad they cannot figure out how to keep their players happy.
When it came up for me in paradise, they easily accomodated even though their policy was just like FTPs.
That reinforces the belief that FTP is only a second rate site.
gg FTP. -
I think the software is the best there is interface wise, witch is on of the main reasons I play there.

LOL at people that get mad when a site won't change rules to suit their needs. I don't understand why someone would enter a satellite to a tourney when they know aren't going to be around to play the tourney. The rules are clear and because they have accomodated you/others in the past doesn't mean that they changed the rule. I am pretty sure that if they unregistered you from a tourney in the past, they made it clear that it was a one time thing (not to be abused).
FWIW - I think FTPDoug has stated on here that they will be implenting a T$ system in the near future. -
I'm not mad, I'm saying this is why stars support is better. Stars would just do a simple request that benefited the player.
-
why qualify for tourneys via sats if you cant play them? i am sure you are aware of their policy when it comes to qualifying via a satelite, they have helped you once, you should be happy. Have someone else play for you so that you don't lose the seat. That's about all you can do.
-
I really thought they'd help me out. Just before I entered the sat someone posted on here asking about getting out of one of the winner's choice events. FTPDoug just missed it and said he would've helped. That made me think it wouldn't be a big deal two weeks out to get it changed.
