My friend was explaining his bust out hand at the last level of 1b. Blinds were 200/400, not sure of ante. He said the mp raiser range was extremely wide, has shown k3 after a raise, one of those live players who never folds. Mp raises to 1k, friend in big smooth calls with JJ, both with 60k effective stacks. Flop is Txx, ragged rainbow, bb chks calls mps 2k bet. Turn is a low brick, bb chks, mp fire 4500, my friend shoves. He said the mp players calls the shove with AQ.

sounds like your friend played the hand horribly too.

I don't disagree, he said he wanted to hit the 100k mark before the end of the level. I would of chk/called being the player is one who never folds, and just try to evaluate if an overcard hits. Could of been in decent shape with 45-50k left after a river fold, instead risking 50k to win 10k. I wish someone would call off 100 bbs with ace high on the turn drawing slim.

I believe the Op proved his point....

Wow wow wow. I just hope the QJ guy had the thought process of his 10K shove being a stone-cold bluff to get Townsend to lay down a non-nutted flush. Not that it makes the play any better. Any way, thats a play I see at the 1.20 45 mans and just shake my head at, let alone the ME.

Why does this thread say "Locked" at the top, even though people can still post in it..?

If the OR had a wide range of hands, why did your friend smooth call with JJ? He's OOP, sure, but with JJ vs a LAG player, why not put in a sizeable re-raise?
Pretty badly played IMO -

Im gonna go out on a limb and say he meant:
