I don't understand why the best players posts on these forums with their true screen-names. In my opinion, they are trying to compete in a popularity contest. They are trying to "self-expose" themselves and be a "celeberity" of online poker. What they don't realize is that they become a target. My point is that a player like ZeeJustin could almost be anoymonous in the poker world. I'm friends with a player who probably makes just as much money as ZeeJustin does in tournaments, and I once asked him why he doesn't consider making a webpage similar to ZeeJustins. He replied back by saying, "I don't want that exposure." Therefore, know one hardly knows he even exists in the online poker world. What I'm trying to say, is that anytime one of these "self exposed - celeberity" type players do anything slightly wrong, there will be players who report them for any speculation whatsoever. I would say that Nato76 really had no idea if ZJ was cheating or not, and if he was using multi-accounts, I'm sure it didn't effect this Nato guy whatsoever... he was just out to get one of these "self-exposed celeberity" figures...... if a player like ZJ would have never created a website in the first place, there most likely wouldn't have been any speculation or anything to report on him no matter what... none the less, cheating is cheating is cheating.... and I'm glad Poker Sites are not lowering the bars for certain status players.

fwiw i dont think nato sent the email just x-posted it from 2+2. i think the person who wrote the letter is a NWP regular.
anyway back to the subject, i think some people just like exposure and attention. also im sure ZJ's website was good for him and marketing and making him money esp. since he is a party affiliate -
Oh sorry, well then using your mind, take out Nato's name, and insert the other guys name. lol.

Nato just sent us the link, he didn't expose. Nato's a good guy. Anyways...they're technically kids in my book. We all made dumb moves in that age range. Now add all the money and web fame they have, they LOVE the attention. TomH hit the nail on the head...ATTENTION. Period. JMHO.

ultimate,
everyone has different motives... some people are largely motivated by money and some people are mostly motivated by fame.
i'm mostly motivated by sex.
thanks

It's not just attention. There's a lot of good that can come from getting your name out there. Backing deals, sponsorships, and other big opportunities can come from being known. Being a "celebrity" poker play has many perks--just look at the TOC, where Annie Duke won $2M for free. A lot of young players aspire to have opportunities like that. It also gives you an opportunity to get set up in the business world (i.e. neverwin and his website). If all you care about is playing poker and profit at the tables, then maybe it makes sense to stay private for some people, but most people have some desires beyond that. Besides, if you're not breaking any rules, you should have nothing to hide.

Well I think everyone should look at Jordan Berkowitz and realize how much shit he's avoided by simply staying out of the public's eye. People talk shit about him all the time on here, but he could care less and doesn't come on here to defend himself. He could also have a popular website, but he doesn't give a shit about the exposure, because if your game is good enough, you will make more than enough money to live a happy life.

Amen, Orioles

Jordan berkowitz is a high-school dropout who final tabled his first WCOOP Main Event underage, and then won it this year.

berkowitz hasn't avoided any shit really..i don't really understand your point.
Guys like Zee and other top players don't get "shit" just for "self-exposure" unless they do something wrong. I think Adam said it perfectly, why shouldn't they make a site if they have nothing to hide? The exposure isn't really the issue here, unless the only point you're trying to make is that if you're cheating, you shouldn't make a website and post on public forums, which seems pretty obvious..
sorry if i'm missing something
