hi to all pocketfivers!
i just wonder why some players like to create and imagin story when it's obvious you lie. this is the most recent at the casino a guy told me last night... he like to play big tourney on pokerstars, especially the 50$ rebuy deep stack ( really?) there is always between 8000 to 9000 players (really really??) it's easy to cash, most of the players go all-in everyhand (really?) so the rebuy last for 2 hours, all you have to do is sit back and wait the right hand to triple( really, rebuy for 2 hours) last time i played, i was so unlucky, we start 9000 players and we are down to only 45 players, i was second in chips with 280000 chips... (wow, 9000 players to start a deep stack rebuy tourney and your are second with only 280000 chips with 45 left!! chip lead must be at 10 millions then LOL), then he said a stupid hand about he had AA and UTG raise at 100k, becuz blind at 10k/20k, LOL he is second and he have only 14 times the BB he get call by 2-5off and flop A-9-2 and he bet and get call and turn and river 22 so he get beat by quands... why trying to look interesting by telling stupid story like that? -
Sounds like he took a bad beat

he wasn't lying; he just mixed up a couple of the details. Here's what he probably meant
simple mistake really. confused one or two minor details in the retelling is all. happens to everyone. why you gotta bust his balls?Originally Posted by mister class

there are a few ways to approach it.

You can sit back and think to your self "yeah i remember my first beer too"
You could make an equally imaginative story and try to convince him you are lord gamblor re-incarnated into human form
Or you could just say "wow that's pretty sick" stick your headphones back in and ignore him.
Guys like that are just part of the experience. What are you going to do? Shoot him down by pointing out all of the errors in his tale. You might embarrass shim but you'd only confirm that you are a complete self centered POS (if you chose to berate him) and should be deleted from the breeding pool.
Suck it up Sweetheart
Reason: can't spell -
I can see and have experienced how tilting these players and there stories can be. Tbh I usually just sit back and listen and throw in the occasional old reassuring head nod, then I proceed to laugh in my head when they bust there buyin on top pair with a horrible kicker, then I lean back look over and throw in a "Cooler bro".

ya lol the other night i was playing in some donkament and i had quads and actually got paid off by the guy and then he types something like "nh had a full house" which was hilarious bc anyone could see in the HH replayer that he deff did not
-
Yeah i actually did that when i just started in online poker. I had no idea how to play and clearly had no idea everyone could see my cards in the HH either. lol I felt like an idiot when I found out. live and learn.

Love it when guys do this. Another one today was funny: The board had four spades out and villan bet and guy fols and said he folded 777. I'm like why would you fold a full house the board had 44 on it. Obv. busted his ass since there is no way he had 777
