Two factors come into play here I think.
1. Do you think the donks will be saving their money for more useful things, or
2. Will they be more willing to gamble?

No matter how bad you may think it is. People will still drink and people will still gamble.

Most people will choose to socialize and drink rather than gamble

All I'm gonna say is that I'm still seeing people in the parking lot of my local convience store, every time I go, scratching those instant lifetime -44% ROI tickets. They don't seem to be too worried.
I'm willing to be there's always going to be plenty of people like me, who think they're smart enough to grind 180's and earn a +50% ROI or better, chasing the dream, pumping a few hundred dollars into the system every month.
If people are too poor to afford internet and a computer though, they'd have no choice. -
I disagree slightly. Degens are degens, but there are always degens. So, sure, some players are going to play with money they can't afford to lose. But, it'll be the same or less people, not more people.

I think for newb players or the occasional player- it will depend on thier discretionary income. So probably less money from them.
So, though I don't think online poker will hurt like other businesses, I don't think any sort of recession is a good thing for them. -
Don't be stereotyping all of us donks in to one category. Just because the financial markets are going to sh!t, doesn't mean that we are all going broke.
