Will donks deposit more or less than usual because of the financial crisis?

    Two factors come into play here I think.

    1. Do you think the donks will be saving their money for more useful things, or

    2. Will they be more willing to gamble?

    degens are degens. A losing degen will put more on especially at this time.

    I think for newb players or the occasional player- it will depend on thier discretionary income. So probably less money from them.

    I think a lot of people feel more comfortable betting on poker rather than the stock market right now.. It could bring in a new batch of out of work finance people

    Hmm interesting post. Desperate people sometimes do resort to gambling. Look how well the lotteries do.

    I know that since I've been unemployed I've played a hell of a lot more poker. And I did hit my lottery ticket. (Lucky me)

    neither until they make it easier for people to deposit money on these sites

    if neteller and all that was around still, u'd see a lot more fish out there

    All I'm gonna say is that I'm still seeing people in the parking lot of my local convience store, every time I go, scratching those instant lifetime -44% ROI tickets. They don't seem to be too worried.

    I'm willing to be there's always going to be plenty of people like me, who think they're smart enough to grind 180's and earn a +50% ROI or better, chasing the dream, pumping a few hundred dollars into the system every month.

    If people are too poor to afford internet and a computer though, they'd have no choice.

    I disagree slightly. Degens are degens, but there are always degens. So, sure, some players are going to play with money they can't afford to lose. But, it'll be the same or less people, not more people.

    So, though I don't think online poker will hurt like other businesses, I don't think any sort of recession is a good thing for them.

    fwiw I've never played the lottery till today. Everyone at my work threw in $5 and I have photo copies of all the tickets we have, but I dont even know what the damn things mean lmao.
